You are so right. I can’t believe he is still biting at Kemps ankles but he just can’t seem to stop himself. It reminds us how profoundly annoying and adolescent he is (for many of us voters in Ga who matter).I he’s going to F it up again because he believes all of his cheerleaders and swooning fans rather than being rational and disciplined. A shame, I fear she will be a disaster but he’s (again, for a subset of us) so full of his own need to shoot off his mouth that we just don’t know if we might want to let both of these candidates bury themselves in successive elections, starting with Trump losing and Harris choking us all with her smarminess, be done with it, and move on to someone new.

why, WHY did that bullet not veer just A LITTLE to the right?

my head exploded - even with grey matter (and white) all over the screen I'm smarter than Trump. The f-ing aye whole is too stupid to soil himself let alone be president. After the Bragg verdict I sent him money. Now I'm sending money to Harris. I have NEVER supported a Dem, EVER

The GOP has long excelled at defining the Dem's presidential candidate. I only slightly disagree with Erick's take, where he sees an emphasis on "bread and butter" economic issues as the way to go.

Already hindered by the late start, Trump's best shot would have been to hang some of Harris' most progressive positions around her neck, defining her as a radical leftist. In trying to instead define her as not really being black, the proposition is so obviously stupid (she went to a virtually all black college) that all he has done is muddle any effort at defining her at all. And with the Democratic convention about to take place, where positively defining Harris will be one of the main objectives, the opportunity has probably been completely lost.

His first mistake was J.D. Vance. This was his second. Already entirely undisciplined and largely immune to sound advice, as his poll numbers slip and he starts hearing the sound of those jail doors clanking shut behind him, Trump is going to make a lot more before all is said and done.

I might add that Trump's focus on Harris' race should tell you something about who he really is.

Somebody needs to get this to Trump! Wake up!

Trump’s shenanigans will deliver the Presidency to KH on a silver platter. I’m not sure it’s worth standing in line to vote and I have always voted, even in local elections. What a shame. By the way DJT….don’t pick on Kemp.

Is there a way to get Erick Erickson show recordings. I beverage time to listen live but would love to go back and listen.

Spot-on as far as Trump's antics go. DT is playing with fire. As a lifelong conservative I'm pissed that DT's ego is so big that he can't just wait 100 days to say these things if he must say them at all.

Hearing Erick call Harris an unknown was a timely reminder for everyone here: if you’re reading this, you’re in a bubble. For anyone in this comment string who subscribed to Eric’s Substack, Harris is a known entity. The masses don’t pay nearly so much attention. They take an unknown (anyone remember Obama?) and let their imaginations go wild in a good way. Make her the best of what they want her to be. not caring about what she is. And Trump is acting like he doesn’t know it, or isn’t acting. Start preparing yourself for a Harris administration. Hope for better even if unrealistically but plan for the worst..

kinda like an innocuous Vanna White...she's whatever you want her to be.

This paragraph bothered me:

"If this keeps up, you’ll have a lot of Republicans start reasoning that they could put up with Kamala Harris for two years and lock in the House and Senate in 2026 and it’d be far better to go through that than put up with Trump for four years and all the down ballot disasters that would come in 2026."

If the GOPe (who themselves brought us a quarter century of failure in many flavors going into 2016) decided to spike Trump in a fit of pique millions are just going to be done with the GOP. They'll never win another national election in my lifetime. I think we are, for millions of potential GOP voters, already at the limits of patience with GOPe after the garbage from them in just the last few years.

Sorry, Erick, but if Trump goes down for this reason its sort of the end of your GOP too.

Definitely needs a Kellyanne Conway to rein him in. Like Kemp I’m supporting Trump but wish he’d stop with this shit. How can he not know that Kemp is more popular with the Republican voters in Ga.

If Trump can't--or won't--make a case for himself on the economic and geopolitical merits in the next 90 days, then it might make the most sense to flush him, focus downballot, and prepare for the '26 midterms.

I bet this is why Youngkin stayed away from veep.

Meanwhile--does Kemp run against Pajama Boy in '26 or make a POTUS run in '28? Kemp would be a great palate cleanser for the GOP, especially if Trump loses. The Dems can throw MAGA at him all day long and he will be Teflon.

As Ron DeSantis once said, if Trump loses he'll just say the election was 'stolen'.

Trump can and will lose this election if he doesn't clean things up.

1) I find it hard to believe that his oppo research on Vance was so shoddy.

2) The Dems have always taken a "no enemies on the Left" approach, sometimes to the point of playing footsy with outright commies. Trump has no business trying to settle scores with Kemp/Raffensperger. Period. Full stop. Don't be surprised if Kemp's shadow-GOP PAC just mails it in for Trump.

3) AGAIN, all Trump has to do is put out two ads: 1) An ad showing news clips of the mess in San Fran to the tune of a Beach Boys AI soundalike. Could be his "Daisy" ad. 2) An ad with nothing but b-roll of Harris talking.

I have to agree. Mr. Trump's unforced errors drive me insane. He has my vote and support, but please just stick to issues and leave the identity crap to the dems. I was hoping that Vance coul;d redirect him but that seems to not be possible either. My biggest angst comes from the fact that whe=n he does stay on task, he can be incredibly astute and intelligent

I'm not going to cast a vote for any of the presidential candidates. Trump lost me in Atlanta. He needs a dose of Valium.
