In Genesis 15, God makes his covenant with Abraham and tells him the Israelites would stay in Egypt for 400 years because the “iniquity of the Amorites” is not yet complete. To get them there, Joseph’s brothers sell Joseph then themselves are forced to go to Egypt to escape a drought. By then, their brother is in charge. “What you meant for evil, God meant for good,” Joseph tells them.
Y’all, I am living proof that God’s got a plan. Sometimes, you may not know the plan. In fact, I venture to guess most of us don’t. But when you’re stuck where you don’t want to be, trust God. It is all part of a plan you probably don’t understand.
Here are some thoughts on this I had on radio this week. It was actually a more in-depth monologue on it because earlier in the week, I’d mentioned it and got so much feedback from so many, I figured I needed to spend more time with it.
Caught a bit of your life story while listening to your radio program this past week. Thank you for sharing and being so transparent. Very inspiring and a great witness to the power and grace of God working in your life. Peace Brother.
Oh yes He does, but until you have immersed yourself in His word, you cannot have the confidence and relief of knowing that everything truly does “work for good to those who love God and who are called according to His purpose.” We Christians have memorized those words but mostly never truly understood them OUTSIDE the context of all the rest of Scripture. This is one important reason why we need to be part of a Bible believing, Orthodox Church, such as a PCA, where God’s word is faithfully taught every single time brothers and sisters meet.
