If you are a long time reader, you will know my wife has lung cancer. It is not from smoking or radon or any environmental cause. When we first got married, due to my wife’s family history of breast cancer, she had a prophylactic mastectomy. Sixteen years later, having thought we dodged a bullet, doctors diagnosed her with a genetic form of lung cancer.
fyi - they give you the worst possible prognosis. After he took out my prostate, the surgeon told me, even though it was a complete removal ("negative margins") he told me I had a 5% chance of progressive disease. I knew it was closer to 0%, and it never recurred. Your wife may well not have further trouble. It depends on likelihood of further mutations in the cancer cells - it varies widely, but if nothing has happened in a few years it's likely nothing ever will happen
So thankful for your family's health and the joy you've been able to experience these last 18 month. Praying for full recovery and a wonderful Thanksgiving for you and your readers/audience!
