It's the same thing with immigrants.

The grandparents come to America from some 3rd-world craphole. They work hard, struggle, sacrifice, and suffer to provide a decent life for their family. They are grateful for American citizenship, the freedom, and the rising prosperity for their household.

The parents see this struggle, and are a part of it. Through all their efforts, the family now enjoys prosperity.

The kids get born into prosperity and grow up with it. To them it's normal; they can't imagine their lives being any other way. They take it for granted; they never saw or experienced the struggle. They fall prey to Leftist propaganda, end up hating the country and can't give any real reason why. This is why groups like ANTIFA and BLM are mostly made up of suburban white kids who's families are upper-middle class or lower-upper class.

This really is an intriguing analogy, and very true in my mind. I think it spreads far beyond just the technocrats. Politicians have also deluded themselves in this way as well. Both are ready to cash in and check out passing the torch to our foes. This even extends to some retiring flag officers in the military willing to sell out for cushy kick backs and pseudo-jobs for their spawn by all.

Its amazing to watch as even as their policies fail, they claim successes that were due to them. On both sides. Maybe a mass prosecution of the influence peddlers, and making the bureaucracy accountable to the people could possibly rein this in. That would require congress to grow a pair and do their damn job. That accountability has to be 100% on both sides. Biden, Pelosi, McConnell, and I'm sure a legion of others all the way down the chain to the failure theater players on both sides in the Squad plus Gates, MTG, Boebert, etc.

Not holding my breath.

I do not believe we are in a 3rd gen. We are in reality about the 6th or 7th.

The first being after the revolutionary war. The 2nd being 1800’s 3rd and 4th through the civil war and into the 1900’s 5th maybe WW1 and 2. 6th could really be the Vietnam era and revealing the liberals. 7th is now. The Neo modernism and liberal progressives

I agree that the rise of the modern technocrat began in my mind w/ Woodrow Wilson timeframe. However, the mindset of the third generation family business spoiled children looking to cash in and lack of self-awareness is 100% in evidence.

I would encourage people to read The Fourth Turning is Here by Neil Howe.

History is generationally cyclical. And the cycle is due to reset in the next 10ish years. It may be resetting now.

Expand full comment

I don’t believe in cycles. I think every generation faces its own set of challenges and threats that breed new strategies against those threats or challenges. If everything was cyclical as you say then in theory we should have another period of republican dominance or a period of dictatorships.

How many people remember the trials of the revolutionary war? Nobody who fought then is alive. Nor 1812 or the civil war.

Yet America was able to fight through ww1 and ww2.

This is different. This is a war but not with guns and bombs. It’s one of cultural and societal values.

Do we abandon morals in favor of heresy? Or do we maintain our moral values and continue to evolve.

This election is unfortunately just as some would say.. exceptional. Do we preserve our ways with trump or do we burn everything down and end the world as it is? We shall see.

The threat is rampant ignorance and a general loss of motivation & a sickening sense of a know-it-all mindset. Myths rule the popular culture and problem is that its cultish - or sheep following lies .

Yet America is leading the pack in one world order or WEF because greed is more important to the rich and powerful.

America is not leading in anything but military power and that is the only sole reason we haven’t been invaded or bombed.

But if Biden wins that buffer will be gone. The world ends in 2027 if Biden or any dem wins period, that’s it.

China is waiting until the election. If Trump wins they pull back because they know. If Biden wins they will invade Taiwan the next day. This will start a two year chain reaction that will be the end of it all.

Yes sir I see the truth in your message. I am a second generation, my father served in the army in the Pacific theater during WWII, my children are respectful of what their grandfather did, but grandchildren and great grandchildren only give “Lip Service, to their history, and are really not interested when I try to tell them about those times or advice on any topic. They are eager to make their own mistakes. How sad. But I was probably the same way at that age.

It seems to be a cycle, like one of your other responders (Frank Lee) noted.

Have a blessed day.

Yes. Hard times create strong men that sacrifice to create good times that create weak men that create hard times. We are on a cycle where weak men dominate.
