In case you don't know what I mean.

Auburn may be conservative, but "educators" are predominantly left of center. University towns are always centers of "progressive" belief and thought. It's the only place such ideas can gain purchase and inside the bubble of a University town the majority think alike. The hive mind is strong in such places. So it makes sense that the deviant in question would not only pass under the radar for a long period of time but would actively be protected by members of the hive. Hopefully the story will cause the person to be fired.

In 2013 Melissa Harris Perry, then of MSNBC, was featured in the "Lean Forward" ad campaign. In it she famously promoted the idea that children are community property and the rearing of children ought not be left to parents.

"…we’ve always had a private notion of children; your kid is yours and totally your responsibility. We haven’t had a very collective notion of these are our children. So part of it is we have to break through our kind of private idea that kids belong to their parents or kids belong to their families and recognize that kids belong to whole communities."

Combine such thinking with the virtual bubble of progressive thought inhabited by most educators and you end up with the Auburn situation.

What is required is for concerned parents to get themselves elected to school boards where some level of oversight may be brought to bear. Establish curriculum reivew boards designed to ferret out any teaching, and teachers that may lead to Auburn like situations. Eliminate non core teaching until teachers can prove they can do the job for which they were hired. Basically corral the entire public school education community who for too long have been given free rein in the education of our children. Of course school choice must be adopted in every community.

I am all in favor of public education. I am also in favor of breaking the monopoly of government delivered education. There is no reason why public education must be delivered by government employees.

Despite east-central Alabama being a very conservative area, this does not surprise me. The reason is that just like Athens, GA, home of the University of Georgia, where immigration laws are not enforced and the city government prides itself on being a "sanctuary" city (until they deny that they are when it benefits them), a large university fills a relatively small town with educators with advanced degrees that are blessed to be more enlightened than the common folks. Having a major university in town is certainly a double-edged sword.

Other than Laken Riley getting killed and making the mayor look bad the smart libs do not care - just watch their actions.

Good point. Has Athens, Ga changed their 'Sanctuary City' designation? I don't think so.

Not that I’ve heard - until it’s a rich proggies kid nothing will change. It’s pathetic. I have liberal friends, but their beliefs are something to observe- especially when I see how they live.

God forbid you're a teacher who posts the 10 Commandments or the Pledge of Allegiance in your classroom though. How utterly cultish!!

I’m noticing more & more that they are objectively mentally unstable and exhibit violent tendencies when questioned about their bottom line goals of grooming children for their own sexual needs. It’s grotesque and despicable. We really need to start addressing not only them but all of the mentally disturbed people, especially those who are homeless, & build facilities to house & treat them- if even possible. We MUST give better protection to our most precious youth. Enough of this madness…we as adults need to take back control. I pray we find a way.

Local elections are so important. As someone has written this is where real change can happen. Additionally, these school board members often go on to run for higher office - State Legislators etc. These members of the Auburn School Board need to be voted out. Any elected officials that thinks they have a right to hide any information from parents about their children are not fit for office.

Governor Ivey needs to get involved. Senators Katie Britt and Tommy Tuberville should also make inquiries.

How about the local people getting involved if you sit on your hands this is what happens

Ah yes, another NAMBLA member. It’s odd that some fine Alabama parents haven’t used the Clinton method (assisted suicide) to deal with him.

On a similar note, we have the same kind of activists working in our libraries in the more suburban/rural areas north of Lake Pontchartrain. The officials who could do anything about it, are spineless and take no action. Those who try to fight it are shouted down on social media and newspapers. This is how we lose.

How you lose is by not targeting the elected officials and voting them out!

Ok. At the same time, I've yet to figure out how to vote Against someone, unless there's an alternative to vote For. Republicans have been feckless for as long as I can remember. I'm not sure there's more than a handful of them who actually believe anything like what I believe. And I don't have the skills or background to get elected to anything.

Become involved, serve on the local boards, get to know the people active in the community. Encourage like minded folks to run, support them. It’s hard work, but it’s not complicated.

You're right. Not sure how to begin, but someone in my family's circle of acquaintances will be able to help.

Anita Bryant warned us about this in the 1970s. They cancelled her.

Bryant seemed a tad extreme back then. Her predictions were absurd. One was the notion men would some day try to use women's restrooms. Or that the alphabet people would foster or adopt children, and then sexually abuse and traffic them. See Georgia's own LGBTQ icon Zach Zulock, if you'd like to get sick to your stomach.

Only governments or schools would ever hire some of these unfortunate perverted biden voting misfits.

I’m glad to see somebody else remember Anita Bryant. I remember being amazed beyond belief that Big Orange Juice would cave so completely and cravenly to a “movement” that was - at the time - wildly unpopular. It turned out to be a template for the future of cancellation.

If parents know about this, can someone tell me why their kids are still in that school at all? Because if I had a child in school, and I found this was happening in ANY class in the school, whether my child was in the class at all, I would pull the kid out, and be meeting other parents as their kids were dropped off to make sure they all knew the school district was allowing perversion into the school. Letters to the editor of newspapers, posters in public places, heck I might buy space on a roadside billboard. What is wrong with parents who just wring their hands and whine a complaint then back off?

If this is in Auburn, Ala, it has to be that parents aren't aware. He best be packing his things.

People just don't believe this is happening. When they hear drag queens, they think Corporal Klinger, Flip Wilson, Tootsie. They just do not see the harm. Media creates the perception that is reality for so many.

This IS Exhibit "A" for all those who are upset after their local school board and education folks say, Oh that will never happen here...

The only check for accountability to parents and tax payers is school choice.
