Biden stated that the unvaccinated are endangering the vaccinated. How exactly does that work if the vaccines work as claimed? What was missing from his diatribe and has been missing from everything said by the government regarding vaccination rates is the 100,000,000 or so who have natural immunity. I suspect that this comprises the largest portion of the great unvaccinated.

“ Whatever happened to “my body, my choice?” For those saying the unvaccinated can kill others, an abortion literally and scientifically kills another human being. The double standard is amazing.”. Excellent point! Thank you.

President Biden's team seems to have found the solution to his incoherent thought processes. My guess is 5:00 will be "his time" for all future pressers. He appears to suffer from "Sundowning" syndrome. In the 5:00 hour he reads better and loses his train of thought less. It does not surprise me no one in the media is talking about it anymore. As for the voting public, I'm not confident people will still vote for freedom when they can vote for cradle to grave subsistence. Good luck America. This is so troubling to me.

Government "mandates" are counterproductive. People should have the common sense and personal responsibility to get vaccinated to protect their neighbor and to end this plague. But that's not how it works in today's post-modern, post-Christian society. The more Sleepy Joe talks about it the less likely almost anybody in my former "tribe" will get the shot.

P.S. Oddly enough, if Trump would have won all this would be bass-ackwards and it would be the Democrats in open rebellion about the "Trump vaccine."

Biden will use OHSA to impose the mandate. Not sure if that is constitutional but the courts will decide. I am vaccinated, but that was my choice. I looked at the risk vs benefit of getting it or not. One big incentive, was get the shot and get back to normal. No masks, distancing unless you chose to do so. The administration, CDC etc blew that out of the water.

This administration has weaponized the DOJ, with baseless law suits because they did not like a law or they wanted another statue. Only hope that in 2 and 4 years from now another administration can undo the carnage that this administration is imposing.

Highly question whether public opinion will be with Biden. Highly questionable…

As a Republic and NOT a libertarian democracy, we citizens widely support the legitimacy of our government imposing restrictions on our behavior that protect the community, e.g., traffic laws, clean food and water laws and the vaccination of school children. The vaccination of all appropriate individuals during a deadly pandemic is no different. Heck, the draft is still a law, enabling the feds to forcibly put my male children in uniform, hand them rifles, and drive them over a hill to face the withering gunfire of an adversary during times of national emergency.

The other side of this argument is just this: should vaccines and other public health measures be mandated when the lethality of a disease is low? When using the smallpox ruling of 1905 by the Supreme Court supporting mandatory vaccination, we should remember that this disease had a 30% mortality rate! Overall, the CDC published mortality rate of PROVEN COVID-19 CASES hovers a little over 1%. However, using seroprevalence data, i.e., looking at everyone in a population that have developed antibodies without having previously being diagnosed with COVID-19(usually asymptomatic or minimally symptomatic individuals), the mortality rate is about 1/700 for individuals under 70 years of age in Georgia (WHO Research, 2021). And my state does not have a particularly good health profile as a baseline.

My current thought is that mandates should currently only apply to healthcare providers and first responders, and maybe teachers(to protect themselves so that they can continue teaching in the classroom) but not the general public. Enraging a lot of folks over a mandate when people commonly understand that this disease is not so deadly will make it that much harder to effectively mandate vaccination when the next virus to escape from the Wuhan bio-weapons lab is a highly lethal hybridization of corona virus and ebola with a 50% mortality rate.

It was chilling to hear the President of the United States use such language.

Why is it no one talks about the immunity that one gets if they have already had covid and recovered? We have had it. My husband had to ask for an antibody test. His results were through the roof and we had covid at the beginning of March. Why should we have to inject our bodies with more of what we already have? I am sure that we are not the only ones in this situation. Maybe we should get an immunity pass that we can flash when someone wants to see our vaccine card.

Well from an independent mindset I am glad the vaccine is being mandated. Way too many sick people in hospitals that will cost us all and many will die. Not everything the administration does is bad and not everything Republicans do is good. Time for all of us to be independent thinkers and support the individual. Group think is dangerous whether you are conservative trumpian or progressive

I hope and pray we can survive this present administration and that the 2022 and 2024 elections will bring needed relief and sanity to our governing process.

"We have been patient, but our patience is wearing thin...." Talk about an "us versus them" comment! And once again no consideration is given to acquired (natural) immunity. You're right Erick, it's unconstitutional and Biden's admin knows it - I told my wife as much immediately after the announcement - but it will give those corporations who were on the fence an excuse to mandate vaccines until it is successfully challenged in court. And then there are the subsequent appeals, all of which take time. Dictatorial? Hell yes! Yet Trump is the fascist, Trump is the Nazi. The level of brazen ignorance displayed by the "enlightened" and "academically superior" in this country is stunning. Those who don't know history are doomed to repeat its failures, and every despotic ruler has come to power using the very same tactics progressives repeatedly push upon us all. But we are reassured that somehow it'll be different this time. Sure it will, comrade.
