First, congratulations to Donald Trump and Chuck Schumer. They both got their preferred candidate in Ohio, Bernie Moreno. Moreno was a pretty liberal, gay rights supporting guy who was Never Trump and then embraced Trump and the MAGA cause and social conservatism. Some argued his conversion was convenient. Trump endorsed him. He won. Chuck Schumer poured some money in at the end to help Moreno because Democrats are convinced he is the weakest Republican.
We’ll see if Moreno goes the way of Herschel Walker, Blake Masters, and Dr. Oz or defies the trend of Trump endorsements in close races. Odd are in the Democrats’ favor, but perhaps Moreno will be savvy. He is going to need to listen to J.D. Vance, who also supported him strongly.
Now, the bloodbath that took place in Florida last night was the result of gross Democrat political malpractice.
The Democrats decided not to have a Democrat primary because they did not want anyone to challenge Joe Biden for the presidential nomination. The result was that a massive number of municipal races were on the ballot and no Democrats turned out. Unlike the major presidential race, these were not primary elections, but general elections for municipal candidates held at the same time as the party primaries.
With no Democrats showing up to vote for Biden, many Democrats did not realize they still needed to go vote. But Republicans did.
Across the state, Republicans slaughtered Democrat mayoral and city council strongholds at the ballot box. Democrats simply did not show up because there was no Democratic presidential primary.
It was political malpractice — something we keep seeing from Democrats. Take, also Bidenomics. The Biden team wrapped Biden in the able and never purchased the domain Bidenomics.com. So Americans for Prosperity did and are documenting how bad Biden’s economic record is with a site that uses the term Biden embraced.
Then there are the progressives in Chicago. They pushed so hard so fast that Democrat voters are moving to the right. Last night they rejected a number of progressives and progressive policies on the ballot pushed for by the communist mayor.
Republicans may excel at snatching defeat from the jaws of victory, but last night the left really screwed themselves from Florida to Chicago. The only silver lining may be Moreno, but Ohio continues to trend right and it is no sure thing that Sherrod Brown wins his re-election.

I chuckle when I read the report of incompetent Democratic strategy like this, but in the end, they're winning the war. I love it when little skirmishes go our way, but the big picture is pretty bleak. Unless and until conservatives vote for and support real conservatives, Washington will continue to look like the Borg Collective, changing even the decent people who go there into like-minded, self-serving politicians who get theirs while they can and then get out of town, leaving the mess for the next generation. And the next, and the next... And it's not just the politicians themselves who are causing the decay. Abortion is a winning strategy for the Dems. Incredible. Transgenderism is destroying lives, but the voting public is scared to call evil out by name because it might hurt someone's feelings. The work ethic that built America is denigrated and disappearing. Diverse thought and fairness have been traded for DEI, which is just another way to promote a new favoritism and racism. Rural America is considered the home of "domestic terrorism" instead of the bread basket that feeds the world. Church attendance is in steady decline and we seem clueless as to the cause of our moral decline. Or, even clueless as to whether there's any moral standard to begin with. Last but certainly not least, OUR natonal debt rockets toward 35T because the concept of a budget was thrown in the garbage by the Obama administation, and EVERYBODY loved that because pork is SO tasty.
I hate it, but the left is winning, the Republicans think Donald Trump is the savior, and the country that was the shining light on a hill dies a slow, pitiful death with each passing day. I know, I know. Pessimism doesn't help anything, and God is only a prayer of repentance away. That's as true for a nation as it is for this believer who's faith isn't nearly as big as a mustard seed much of the time. But reality bites. Wish I coud say with the Apostle John, "Come Lord Jesus", but I know so many people that I love who aren't looking forward to that, that I'll just pray for grace, and repentance, again. For me, and them, and our country. Keep those good reports coming Erick. I love a good chuckle.
