Erick, Thank you again for raising a very important issue. By the way, we are a small business as well, and without the PEO-Professional Employment Organization (like ADP) we would not be able to offer benefits either. The parents that have their children in these schools should be raising Cain at this point, especially those who are register Democrats. Hopefully they will. Thanks Charles
Ok, I'm ready to give the democrats their own country so that they will leave the rest of us alone. I'm thinking maybe the west coast, or Venezuela. But then I would feel bad for the people of Venezuela.
Well, this is an issue at the school board/local level. I won’t vote for anyone for school board that doesn’t support charter schools to foster a competitive school system and incentivize public schools to perform better. Though if poor minorities who are most affected by the destruction of charter schools still vote for the Democratic Party, then their kids will pay the price and I guess they’re good with that….go figure….
Lets see if I have this right: Black and other minority students whose parents want them out of the educational charnel houses that are the government schools but can’t afford private schools are going to have their children forced back into those same government schools because the NEA and the AFT have a butthurt over the existence of charter schools, which don’t have to follow the same rules about staff that the government schools do?
Boo freaking hoo, unions; they’re OUR children, and we have a moral responsibility for their welfare, which includes insuring they get the best possible education.
Please keep in mind that the majority of funding for public education in Georgia comes from state (over 50%) and local (over 40%) sources and not from the federal government. I’m not saying that Republicans shouldn’t fight the Democrat Party’s desire to curtail funding for charter schools, but if the Democrats succeed, it may not be as devastating as it sounds.
What about the work of Sec. of DOE (2008-2015), Arne Duncan's "Race to the Top?" Georgia got $400 million for that. Didn't it include charter schools?
Does anyone remember the work of Michelle Rhee (former chancellor of the Washington, D.C. public schools) Or remember the film, Waiting for "Superman"? about 2010?

It is ironic that the parents of the children that will be affected by this (minorities) reliably vote Democrat...........

Take a hike, Randi Weingardner
