There has been another school shooting at another Christian school. We’ll learn details about the shooter over time.
President Biden followed in the shoes of President Obama and immediately sought to politicize the shooting by calling for gun control.
What is notable is that after the attempted assassination of Donald Trump and the assassination of Brian Thompson, neither Biden nor any other Democrats called for gun control.
Likewise, the police and media rushed out Luigi Mangione’s “manifesto” after the shooting. There has been a great reluctance to release Audrey Hale’s manifesto after the Covenant School shooting in Nashville.
Curious on both counts. Actually, it is not curious at all.
The Democrats can’t tell us much about a trans shooter or the attempted assassin from Butler, PA or even the drones, but boy do they have opinions about guns, just not when Trump is shot or a CEO is murdered.
I'm gonna' screw this up because I'm old and my brain is Swiss cheese, but I believe this was a point originally presented by Erick in one of his columns. His point was the need for perspective, that the total number of deaths due to school shootings, from Columbine to present, was less than 200 (it was 176 at the time of his posting). Traffic deaths in Georgia alone were 1,638 in 2023. That same year in Chicago there were 617 gun-related homicides. Don't get me wrong, it is TRAGIC that kids can't go to school without this being a concern. My own kid's Christian school has been on lockdown several times and it's been scary for all of us. But no amount of gun control is going to change that. When guns become hard to find, machetes, butcher knives, and axes will still be plentiful.
Umm, didn’t Biden just pardon his own son for a gun-related conviction? Doesn’t matter how many gun laws you have if the CIC can ignore them at will because it was “unfair.”
