I submit that the way to make sense of someone saying something that’s purely nonsense is to answer this question: “What’s in it for them?” The non-conservative right twists itself in embarrassing knots and their efforts to hump Donald Trump’s leg. For many he is their idol. For the left, it seems to be All About getting to be the Great Sez Who (Erick’s term). Once you deny God’s existence and knock Him off the throne installing man as the ultimate moral authority, this is what you get. Things go off the rails in ridiculous ways very quickly. It’ll get you spouting drivel such as “We are the ones we’ve been waiting for”, “An argument against me is an argument against science” and will reduce SCOTUS Justices and medical doctors to ignorance of what a woman is or which gender gives birth, respectively. So once in it for this plaque doctor? Ultimate power-being the determiner of gender definition. For an abortionist it’s literally wielding the power of life and death. That’s what’s in it for them.
