With the death of a Republican congressman, if just 5 Republicans don't vote for McCarthy - whether they don't vote at all or vote for someone else - and all Dems vote for Jeffries, he's your new Speaker, isnt he?
Of course this means the behind the scenes arm-twisting, batteries in sock beatings, threats, and candyman-like promises of power, will work. McCarthy is the Speaker a House with Marjorie Taylor-Greene and her ilk deserve. Let the next four years be a bloody knife fight that makes Brutus and Caesar seem like the Muppets.
First, Republican Senators backed the RMA. Then, House Republicans met secretly to vote back in earmarks. Now, they want to give the MSM a new source of funding? Which party did we just vote in to take the House, and hopefully hold the Senate to 50-50? If this is what Republicans are doing to us, imagine what the Dems will do.
