Anyone consider his past problems might relate to what he experienced in Dick and Liz Cheney's never ending wars? My nephew came home a totally different person that when he went in. It's taken years of struggle to regain his sanity. A good friends son blew his brains out after three tours of duty. Thanks, Cheney's. Next time, Liz gets to lead the charge from the field, not her cushy office in DC.

New York Gun Control Laws are extreme. It is difficult for Citizens to receive a permit.

If Guns are out lawed - only OUTLAWS will have Guns. No bail for Criminals makes it worse.

In my humble opinion, judging from the first Trump administration, if any of his nominees don’t rise up to his expectations, they’re fired.

So I say give them a chance to at least try to serve their country. If the “Boss” isn’t happy with their performance, they are gone.

I don’t want a DC insider in the pentagon we need a person who will clean up the defense department and is not beholding to the defense contractors if Pete Hegseth is that person so be it the military is there to defend our country not for sex changes and feel good social BS

I have said this many times; Why do we tear down success or people improving themselves?” I kinda look at this a bit differently, in that to get someone with all the credentials, you will likely end up with the same results. Pete will dig into the job and ask the questions rather than accept the status quo. If you want change, change. I want change throughout the government.

As a Christian, I was saddened over the past weeks to hear of the sins in Pete Hegseth's past. Here was a guy who has displayed a wonderful personality on weekend Fox & Friends, an incredible love of county, and a superior intellect. His 2002 book on education, Battle for the American Mind: Uprooting a Century of Miseducation, was fantastic, explicating the leftwing roots of public education and advocating freedom of choice for families as the only antidote.

Though disappointed in him, as a Christian, I believe in redemption and not judging a person for actions done years in the past. Pete seems to have cleaned up his act. I pray that's true.

What befuddles me is that, while conservative commentators give ample air time to deal with gossip campaigns against Pete, and Patel, and Gabbard, and before them Gaetz, they deftly sidestep the disquieting fact that Donald J. Trump has essentially nominated Bernie Sanders in a dress to take over the Department of Labor.

Lori Chavez-Deremer is a relentless advocate for eliminating RIGHT-TO-WORK states through the PRO Act. Are we conservatives willing to accept that in order to get, as Larry Kudlow promotes it, "all of Trump's great cabinet picks confirmed?" Do we really acquiesce to American workers being made complete slaves to what would be Chavez-Deremer's newly empowered union bosses?

And, oh yes, contra to Hegseth's lessons from Battle for the American Mind, she also advocates the elimination of school choice.

Yes, past sexual immorality is a concern, but where's the conservative attention among GOP Senators and media commentators for the IDEOLOGICAL POISON represented by Trump's Labor Department pick -- THE WORST nomination by a Republican president since David Souter.

A few have objected to that nominee. I do not know why there isn't a bigger outcry. She is abominable.

After I posted, I listened to Glenn Beck's program and was cheered to hear that in a special panel discussion on the Trump picks Glenn ran last night, C-D was fell into the "over my dead body" category.

Glenn didn't initially have her there, but it became apparent that this was because he hadn't heard her discussed in detail. Nevertheless, he'd heard enough to preface the discussion on C-D with "I don't feel I've seen Donald Trump compromise his values on anything, except for Lori Chavez-Deremer."

He brought to the panel investment banker Carol Roth, who (bless her) laid it on the line: "I think this is a horrible, HORRIBLE pick, and is going to handicap some of the other great picks he has around him, as he tries to navigate getting the economy back on track . . . She stands in opposition to EVERYTHING Donald Trump is trying to accomplish." Glenn kept shaking his head or rolling his eyes as Roth rattled off C-D's positions.

So, okay, the ball's in play now, big-time conservatives. Start talking --and objecting.

Very fair treatment of the Hegseth story. Nice job, Erick.

I don’t give a damn about his adulterous past. I do care if he mismanaged two veteran non-profits. There should be public hearings, evidence subpoenaed and hard questions asked. PUBLICLY. I don’t blame for Trump’s team working against Hegseth given better talent and superlatively experienced candidates for that position.

Liberalism is a mental disorder, and liberals prove it over and over again.

I do not know Pete - I’m excited about his bulldozer and clean up the Pentagon mentality. However, I do have serious concerns about his ability to run a massive organization due to lack of experience. The most challenging aspect will be managing thousands of employees and that’s with them just acting like employees… If you ever managed employees you get it. Particularly at a place like the Pentagon.

There is a well established group (cabal?) on the left always doing and always planning to do and often always succeeding within the challenge represented by Erick's comment. Whether about Hamas's antisemitism, or Hegseth, or college campus antisemitism, or Richard Nixon, or BLM, or Occupy Wall Street, or get Trump, or as ad nauseum. It's a group (which Erick may or may not recognize) consisting of types like George Soros, Bernie Madoff, Bernie Sanders, Saul Alinsky, Rahm Emanuel (don't waste a crisis) Jeffrey Epstein, Sam Bankman-Fried et al. What an irony!

Megyn Kelly interviewed Pete Hegseth on her YouTube channel yesterday. He specifically addressed his past issues and spoke openly about how he overcame those issues with the help of his current wife and a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. They discussed all of the tough topics, and he addressed/answered all of them. It was a good interview and worth the time to watch.

The left is passionate about getting Pete out. That means he should be confirmed.

This all comes down to trans idiots wanting to keep their gov subsidized surgeries through the military. Something Hegseth will end.

But let’s be real. They would go after anyone at this point. The fact that they are already going after Trump replacement should Pete withdraw just days allot.

But we don’t have the same McCain led opposition movement in the senate that we had in 16. Look for Pete to be confirmed and all the leftists heads to explode.

But lastly, did you see the stories about drones flying around Trump properties?

That along with the murder of this CEO makes me very cautious. We are a looong way from Jan 20th and lefties of this day are not known for just going away quietly when it comes to Trump.

They couldn’t lock him up and third party assasinate him. So what will they try next?

If he continues to stay in the process, I hope Hegseth is prepared for the brutality that the Senate will abuse him with at his hearings. Frankly, I don't understand why anyone would even want to get in bed with these people. It isn't worth it.

I would also like to note that one of the charity organizations that he supposedly mismanaged has released a statement denying that there was any problem with his management and they maintain a good relationship. So even those accusations are suspect. The republican "opposition" to him is more self-serving than belief in the "rumors".
