The Left, It's Allies in the Press, and Progress
I don’t need to write a ton here. I just want to make a point.
With the left and the press these days, all leftwing progress is not happening, it is all rightwing culture war hysteria until it is fully implemented, and you are a bigot for not accepting it once implemented.
See e.g. bans on gas stoves and drag queen story hours.
With the left and the press these days, all violence is rightwing violence until it is not, and then the violent leftist is lashing out as a victim of rightwing hate.
See e.g. the Nashville shooter and the George Floyd rioters.
The left is never at fault, never the perpetrator, always the victim, and you are a hater if you think otherwise.
Is it any wonder so many on the right think the press is now an enemy and not to be taken seriously? And if you need further evidence, just consider Reuters’ tweet about the Nashville shooting.
Factually, it is true. But it is a truth used to misdirect and distort what happened.
Journalists and the press who do not exercise some basic humility and try to be less progressive activists and more honest recounters of what is actually happening are dragging the entire industry down to its death.
I spend a lot of time getting incoming hate from my own side for daring to call my side out in a sense of accountability.
I don’t really see many on the left doing to same on their side, nor do I really see members of the press publicly doing the same.
Do you really, members of the press — do you really think the first angle out of the gate with news of dead kids in Nashville is that the Tennessee legislature banned genital mutilation and sex reassignment drugs that you all, as propagandists, call “gender-affirming care?”
Maybe you don’t, but Terry Moran at ABC News did and he wasn’t alone. And you all get lumped in together just as so many of you lump all Republicans together with Trump.
It’s not fair to either side. It is reality.
And you can’t blame Republicans for not wanting to disarm themselves and back gun control when so many on the left, including the press secretary of a sitting governor, are okay calling for violence against conservatives, orthodox Christians, etc. But still, you’ll all very predictably make this about gun control.
I’m not mad. I’m disappointed in y’all.
But, the shooter is the real victim, right? 🙄
Truth has no agenda, people do.
Most of us couldn’t care what adults do with their bodies. Just don’t make a permanent choice for children.
I am reminded of that great philosopher of the days of SNL, where Roseann Rosanadanna would go into a rant until some truth was explained to her, wherein she would back away from her rant with the iconic “Nevermind”.
This is what DA Brag is doing with the Trump case, when yesterday he quietly cancelled the grand jury for at least a week. This is what the press will do with Nashville, now that they know it was a mentally ill woman. This is what always happens once the press realizes they have monetized all they can out of a fake hitline and now need to shift.
Maybe we should all take a lesson from Governor Desantis, who takes just a short minute to call out bullshit, then gets back to the serious business of governing.
The border is overrun. North Korea is threatening to nuke us. Putin is moving his nukes into the battle theater. Hunter smokes crack while Brandon is sitting in a chair licking an ice cream bowl.
Lots of real issues to deal with without chasing fake hitlines.
