My feeling is that the DNC is paying restitution for the MLB game to the Atlanta Democratic party by having the convention in Atlanta. Isn't Keisha working for the Biden administration? Atlanta Democrats have a hotline to the WH through her.
For all the "cancelled" movie/TV whining that went on...I don't think much was cancelled. I just rented out my parking lot (again) to a TV production crew. I forgot to ask what their stance on the fetal heartbeat ban was.
Erick. While I agree with your points, take a deep breath. Chillax.
Yes, the Dems did all of these things, and financially harmed Georgia, but we are still here and a beacon of prosperity for the world.
The Braves and Dogs still dominated and forced them all here to spend money.
The president of the universe was thrown off the dais. Good Riddance. Gotta Rember that it was Georgia voters (black & brown & white) that did that, regardless of what the disinformation the lefties put out there. We proved we could vote, without corruption, and are not dumb hicks like the left coast believes.
When they come to hotlanta for their conference, let's hope we round up all their prostitutes and house them on the old prison farm. That would be a hoot.
But, seriously, bringing the convention here will be an economic boom for Georgia and global recognition for the incredible job the Governator did with all the backing of hard-working Georgians.
As conservatives we should welcome the convention and encourage them to bring their money. AND... we should jack up all the prices to nosebleed levels in prep :)
AND.... drum roll please..... this will bring conservative media a never-ending litany of prior bad acts to throw in their faces.
I heard about the DNC the other day, and thought WTF? They have disparaged Georgia relentlessly for the last few years, even going so far as to cause economic hardship. How in the world can they rationalize coming here for their premier event?
Persistent lies and hypocrisy are immoral acts and a direct result of not being accountable to a Supreme Being. Our Founders were well-aware of how our Democratic Republic would function without men and women of character inspired by awe or fear of the Creator.
It's a reality not just tied to the Democratic Party.
Well it looks to me like they’ve launched a surveillance project with the Chinese to survey potential convention sites across the US. Maybe they’ll find a better place than Atlanta. And maybe our Governor can convince the convention and visitors bureau to tell the Dems to take a hike. Or better yet charge ‘em double as a nuisance fee.
Lies, including lies about racism, sexism, "Islamaphobia," climate change, police, MAGA extremists, etc. etc. etc. are all the Lefties have left to use. They can't compete on ideas. All they can do is lie.
Americans, and people in general, have always had a strong fairness filter. The problem as I see it... that has been replaced by a "only what benefits me" filter... a basic crash in moral compass. For me, since Trump was elected, my Democrat friends are much less the high moral fairness-oriented people... something that was always a strong draw for their identity... and have adopted the most vile, greedy, selfish and intellectually dishonest rhetoric that backs their new belief that all means are justified to their end of political domination.
But let's get to the bottom of the explanation for why this is happening. It is happening because we no longer have a free and independent media. And the education system has been corrupted from within.
The consolidation of corporate ownership of the media through Blackrock, Vanguard, State Street and others... has put the media under control of the billionaire boys club. That club wants more corporate consolidation and globalism. The Democrats have latched on to this money train and it has created a sort of Uniparty cabal that controls the levers and switches of the federal government and most state governments and most of the large city governments. The timing of the infiltration of the feminist Marxist critical theory indoctrinated students into the economy along with the advance of social media harassment tools has just been a convenient add on. And the pandemic was a PLANDEMIC.
The correction for these things is being demonstrated by Ron DeSantis and other Republican governors.
But there also needs to be some new legislation for eliminating cross ownership of consolidated corporate holdings as part of our anti-trust laws. Today there are four giant food corporations that own 80% of the brands on the supermarket shelf. The MSM is also consolidated into just a few mega corporations. The Wall Street firms that own controlling interest, also have other Wall Street firms and banks owning interest in them, and visa versa. This has created a Wall Street powered monopoly where the corporate direction is manipulated to benefit Wall Street and the corporate owners.
We are being played by this monopolizing corporatist cabal. And the correction is de-consolidation. The problem in fixing it is the political Uniparty gets big money from it. This is why the old GOP establishment hacks must go. The new GOP, the Trump GOP... and possibly the DeSantis GOP, is needed to get this all done.
CRT needs to be eliminated from the education system. DEI and ESG need to go. The MSM monopoly cabal needs to be broken up. The corporate consolidation needs to be stopped and reversed so more small business can compete.
And we need new civil rights updates that punishes any large public-traded private business for trampling on constitutional rights of Americans.
And lastly, we need to clean out the FBI and and the Dept of Education.
I disagree with most of this. What we need is a strong conservative political party that clearly and unequivocally advocates for conservative political values.
Not social or moral values, that is why we have churches and other community organizations.
Conservative political values like limited government, federalism, strong families and social institutions.
The moment conservatives stray from those fundamental principles, the less effective they become. The problem in America is not crazy leftists, it is unprincipled conservatives. It is strains of nativism and populism that seek to exclude others rather than bring others into our community.
The modern GOP is spineless and stands for nothing more than just not being Democrats or progressives. And it is proving to be a failing strategy. In a time when Democrats are collapsing into absurdity, The only thing keeping them viable is the fact that Republicans are collapsing even faster.
I don't think you disagree with most of what I wrote. I just did not get into that part of the conservative/Republican principles of limited government, federalism, strong families and social institutions. The problem with the GOP side of the Uniparty establishment is that their actions don't support nor facilitate these things. They just pay it lip service. For example, they support the giving hundreds of billions of dollars to corrupt Ukraine and getting us involved in another European world war.
There are foundation problems with our democratic system right now. There is a huge set of thumbs on the scale of election fairness that favors Democrats. We are in fact in a constitutional crisis. We need a convention of the states but 37 is too high a number.
Republicans are feckless and weak and stuck on stupid as it related to modern political movement... and so yes, they give up easy ground to the Dems. But the system is rigged right now. It is like the NBA refs being paid off to make sure the Lakers always win. You cannot ignore that and claim that the other team just isn't playing hard enough. We have to fix the foundations of corrupt influence. The repeated propaganda is piped into the heads of voters 24x7... and the school children are being corrupted to become radical clones of woke. The MSM is now a PAC for the DNC.
So, we can talk about how the GOP is not in good shape, but the foundational problems still need to be addressed.
My argument is the foundational problems exist because what was the conservative party abandoned conservative principles when their voters decided fighting a culture war using the government was more important than fighting for conservative political values. Culture wars, to the extent they exist, should he waged in cultural institutions and not the government.
So a GOP that abandoned their foundation is what has allowed the political foundation in the US to rot. It will take 2 generations to begin to fix the damage done by the culture warriors of the past 30 years. The damage to both politics and culture, especially how religion is perceived by most Americans now, is real.
I think this fails to consider that the culture war coming from the left is insidious, structural and cannot be fought simply with Reaganesk speak and principles today. IT is a real war we are fighting. It is gonna take political action and legislation. I think smaller government is certainly required, but I don't think we get too ideologically wrapped up in looking at government action to protect constitutional rights as bad.
I do agree that the GOP lost its way... and the Christian conservative extremism has not helped either. The perception of a growing secular population that they would be oppressed like in the Handmaiden's Tale... that is GOP albatross. I reject the narrative that Trump lost the Senate. I think the abortion issue lost the Senate.
But you're arguing the chicken or the egg. Did the culture warriors respond to a culture war or did they create the culture war? Because the radical left can make the same case that they were simply responding to what was happening on the religious right.
At some point someone has to be an adult and stand up and say the race to the bottom is stupid. Republicans didn't help themselves when they embraced a complete dirtbag like Donald Trump, the antithesis of everything they profess to believe as the Christian right. Nothing about voting for a person like Donald Trump indicates a person has any respect or value for people that think differently because Donald Trump didn't have any respect for people that think differently. That's not a recipe for success in a country of 330 million people with incredibly diverse points of view.
Which brings me back to my original point, it's all about principle and not issues. Republicans and conservatives have sacrificed principles to wage war over issues, which is stupid. Identify your principles and stick to them, fight hard for issues directly related to those principles, and be willing to compromise on issues that don't.
Ok. I track your position here. It is a traditional Republican one. But I think you are missing the deep end of the pool. There two parts to it... the culture and the economy. The left has been at the culture thing for decades since the fall of communism. Republicans stepped in that junk thinking they could be seen as virtuously in conceding left cultural "progress" like hate crime laws (a giant mistake) because they had won the Cold War and peace and prosperity was booming. Elite Republicans are still stepping in it. They cannot help themselves. The attraction to the trends of being seen as caring for the oppressed is just too strong for them. So the left manufactures new victims by the busload and the Republicans go along. That has to stop. Equality is a character and capability thing... that's all. DEI and ESG has to stop.
But most of what attracted most Trump supporters was not that... it was and is economic. The middle class is being gutted. China in the WTO. NAFTA. CRA, Fanny and Freddie, unchecked immigration. And now Wall Street powered corporate consolidation connected to the WEF Great Reset cabal... all of this is wiping out American middle-class and working class economic opportunity. Small business used to be the job creator until 2014. Then big business took over. Small business, small producers, independent working class workers. The Democrats with support from the Republican establishment (the Uniparty) have worked together to cause all this mess.
Both of these wars need to be fought head-on. But the economic one is the most important. Establishment elite Republicans hate the working class as much as do the Democrats. That is the divide. But without the working class the GOP is toast because it has zero constituent groups... only itself... and maybe the radical Christian right that thinks life begins and conception and even raped women should be forced to carry to full term.
WEll stated

Beware of the True Believers on both sides. To them, the truth is clay to be molded to their heart’s desire.

There must be a belief they can make further changes in GA.
Agreed.
