Janet Yellen’s husband and a bunch of other progressive Nobel Prize-winning economists have published a doomsday piece claiming that if elected, Donald Trump’s policies would provoke inflation. While partisan claims from partisan experts are nothing new, the media coverage is.
CNN, CBS, and others flatly reported these claims from notedly partisan economists as objective facts while failing to mention their extensive political activism. What was just as egregiously omitted was the fact that 13 of the 16 economists had previously published a piece claiming that Larry Summers was wrong and that Biden’s policies would not provoke inflation.
Overstating the journalistic malpractice at play is challenging. There was no accountability for missing the most significant inflationary period in modern American history, nor was there any editorial mention of their partisan bent. In fact, many of these economists openly lobby for Modern Monetary Theory which is universally proven to make inflation worse.
But the credential-obsessed left is uninterested in someone’s track record and instead would rather focus on their education and awards. Pay no attention to their work, and instead focus on the intuitions listed in their LinkedIn bio. This is like the 51 experts who assured us Hunter Biden’s laptop was a Russian disinformation attempt.
However, the most concerning aspect of this applies to CNN. As host of tomorrow’s debate, all eyes are on the network, its moderators, and its anchors. To run a three-minute segment that dances around the partisan bent of the signatories and that thirteen of them claimed Biden’s policies would not provoke inflation is a terrible look. Watch:
Nobel prize for BS should go to these clowns because we know a Nobel prize doesn’t mean diddly Barack Obama got the peace prize and drones the crap out of people. We know what this is and the Democrats or the press can’t hide it anymore nobody trusts the media government or politicians to tell the truth. I lost 20% or more on my money since Joey from Scranton showed up don’t tell me Trump would be worse
I am having a discussion with some K-Street lobbyists right now regarding how these economic "experts" were wrong regarding the Biden inflation predictions. Can you provide the source article that names these Nobel laureates (apologies if it was included into today's show notes)?
NOTE: One of the lobbyists also has one of the 51 foreign policy "experts" you referenced on their team. When I pointed that fact out, his response was "the expert said the Hunter Biden laptop 'has the earmarks' of Russian disinformation, not that it was Russian disinformation." Great way to weasel out of admitting his partner was wrong...
