"And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell." We fear man too much and not God.
Good word from THE WORD. Yes I agree we should not grow cold or hate those who oppose us and yet we must contend for what is good and right (i.e. innocent life and much more). Btw, I'm a strong believer in a young earth. Happy Resurrection Day! this weekend.
A wonderful post full of meaningful admonitions and premonitions. But I am not there yet. I see a force that I recognize as Evil. I think those that walk with their Chistian God, however reactionary and hostile to their liberal neighbor, see the evil too and know they must fight against it.
Thank you Erick. I need this reminder. This world is lost, and I'm not going to save it. I can only reach out in love to share the truth/strength/hope of Jesus.
I agree with you, we need to be ready for Christ's return. I know that this article isn't about the age of the earth, but since you mentioned it... Consider the importance of a young earth. Death came because of sin. "For as by a man came death, by a man has come also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive." 1 Corinthians 15:21-22 ESV "Therefore, just as sin came into the world through one man, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because all sinned—" Romans 5:12 ESV. I am thankful that Jesus is returning. Thanks for the convicting point about love!
Erick, this was well written and beautifully thought. I am continually impressed with your ability to take the events with which you constantly handle and fold them into an application of Scripture.
I appreciate the thoughts regarding Eschatology. I've been praying Pre-Millennialism on you. Now, I'll pray in earnest for you to embrace a Pre-Tribulation Rapture ..... oooooOOOOOooooo! Bwahahahaaaa! Grace my brother!
Jim, I would suggest you know why 2 THess: was written and read it that way. It tells us we will see the abomination of desolation, standing in the new Temple before we are raptured. That also goes along with Matt:24 as an excellent read to help understand. I was a pre-trib person until I did an deep study of 2 Thess about 20 years ago. That showed me the truth of Matt:24 as well.
Not enough time or room here for this! Thanks for reading & replying--very kind. I see a balance in Scripture as well as consistencies in the metaphors & parallels. We can be brothers & still not have to agree on “What is not yet.” Besides, when you & I get to heaven while the Tribulation is happening, we can talk more about it then! Bwahahahaaaa! Grace friend!
Very quick! Nah, I was thinking some "after Marriage Supper" chit-chat! Seriously, if you'd like to discuss more sometime, I'm good with that! I'm on Facebook. If you contact me there, we can connect and speak more easily, perhaps via voice. Grace!
Appreciate the offer but I will be 89 shortly and I never got on Facebook. But many Blessings to you in your days ahead and will talk when we get there after Mid Trib.
Wow Don! I am deeply honored you would see fit to make a comment on me--even though we disagree on minor matters. I am younger than you and I will assume less wise--no one makes it to 89 without a good deal of wisdom! 770-314-1050 is my phone. Don't usually put it out online, but everyone else has it so no biggie. Thank you for your sense of humor and kindness! If we don't speak here, let's agree to speak there. You pick the place, their Lord will pick the time. Grace brother!
Thank you, Erick, for your constant reminder that I must love my enemies. I really stink at it. But I pray for them every day and for God's strength to help me love them. It is very hard work for me! Your encouragement helps.
Wow! Amen and Amen!
Preach it!

Very meaningful devotional for Holy Tuesday with lessons we can apply every day. Thanks for sharing.
Love this
Thanks
Beautiful!
My Pastor is making the point that we Christians are now wandering in the wilderness. As the old hymn says, "This World is Not My Home."

That is the last three years of our talk during the Tribulation, I assume.
