John Cornyn is not a state senator. He is a US senator. Erick, everything else you wrote about the race between Cornyn and Ken Paxton is correct, but let’s not forget that this seat in the US Senate is much more consequential than a state Senate seat.

Erick, sitting here in pain recovering from knee replacement surgery last week and so upset with Trump who just does not get it. I am wondering how expensive this will be, wondering about the $6000.00 insurance bill due this month and I read he now wants to renovate the Kennedy center which is now the “Trump” Kennedy center. I could go on and on but in too much pain. He has no idea of what he needs to do for our country and Republicans in congress are terrified to speak up as if they do he will try to destroy them.

I think the Trump brand is more popular when he is NOT in office (see 2021 to 2025) than when he is. Revenge voting is a powerful tool.

Trump got in largely because the nation rejected a second Biden term through Harris, and saw Trump as a disruptor of the status quo in our politics as we needed it. While he has done a lot of good things, they will never get talked about as he has also taxed us through tariffs, unleashed an immigration policy that went well beyond what most of us wanted, and seeks retribution against anyone who looked at him harshly over the last 10 years. Does the R party not understand they have now lost the small % of moderate dem's who rejected Biden/Harris, the true swing voters, and republicans like me out of sheer disgust!!! I will not be voting for the R senate choice, Rich McCormick (I thought he would have a back-bone), or any other R on the upcoming ballot. And they are doing it in part to try to hurt Trump? Never mind what is right for America.
They vote based, not on what is good and right and Constitutional, but on getting back-patting concessions from their "colleagues" for their own pet projects. And they vote on what puts money in their pockets via campaign donations, which, in part, gets votes to keep them in power. I am thoroughly disgusted with the milquetoast "Leaders" of both chambers who can't even keep their skin-of-the-teeth majority members in line, voting for what we sent them there. They imagine that their gravy-train will keep rolling forever; but if they allow the Democrats to win and be in control again, this nation is done for. The Democrats are already raging, rabidly promising us what they will do to finish destroying America.
Pass the "Save Act?" It will never happen. The Republicans in the Senate just don't have the guts to do it. They don't mind being the "Minority" in power.
