Sam Feist is one of the sharpest minds in American politics. He’s the Washington Bureau Chief for CNN and a friend who, when I was half the man I am now, would occasionally get confused for me. Poor guy. When I was at CNN, he was the CNN Political Director. He knows his stuff.
I hope you are correct in this assessment. If the Media and Democrats are indeed plotting nefariously to discredit that All-American great institution, we are depending on you to provide "the rest of the story," so that we will know what happens.
Since all politics is local, and since I live in a city where registered Democrats outnumber Republicans by 7 to 1, I hope that more Philly residents will see through not only Pelosi's maneuver but also the call by my State Senator to "Vote by mail now, because the President is trying to take your vote away."

With the 24-hour news networks + social media these days, a convention delivers less gravitas. Common folks have already made up their minds on who to vote for in the 2020 election. The 2020 conventions are only politics going through the motions - a dog and pony show.
I agree the conventions don't matter much. Most Biden/Harris votes will come from TDS-inflicted Democrats and GOP Never-Trumpers who have already made up their mind. Most Trump votes will come from voters who supports his policies and/or who will do everything possible to oppose the Democrats progressive policies. Trump's tweets and abrasive style are negative to Biden/Harris voters and either positive or irrelevant to Trump voters, and this is never going to change. This election is about policy, and the failure to recognize that by progressive Democrats and Never Trumpers in 2016 is why they still don't understand Conrad Black's description of the Flight 93 election.
