The Supreme Court has already ruled that the Federal Government has no jurisdiction over abortion. Concentrate your efforts at the state level.

When the incoming First Lady of the United States voices her approval of women's utter autonomy to have an abortion at any stage of what she calls "unwanted pregnancy," the battle's pretty much over for the pro-life side. If we're silent about her blasphemy against God, us not wishing to anger her husband -- or even put him in an uncomfortable position! -- the game's pretty much over. In a moral sense, her pro-abortion position is a more brutal assault on America's soul than anything a politician like Kennedy could inflict. We'd like our First Ladies to have good hearts. Melania doesn't.

Thanks again for pointing out this problem. We who can pray should do so. The Lord can do more than we ask or think.

The pro-life movement deserves criticism for a number of failures, for sure. But I found it pretty unbalanced, Erick, that you adopted such harsh, condemning rhetoric toward pro-lifers for failing to oppose the nomination of RFK when you have not harshly condemned Trump for cozying up to RFK and nominating him.

Sometimes Erick, I am unsure about how you suggest that we promote a pro-life agenda. You indicate that we need to get elected to have some influence. Then you suggest opposing this nominee because he is not pro-life. Then you further criticize RFK because of his history of moral turpitude but others you do not oppose because of such indiscretions. Would you mind providing some clarity and light of these comments?

Here's the way I see it... Economy, inflation, jobs, crime, and immigration are generally the top issues for conservatives. People are struggling; they're just trying to make a living, put food on the table and raise their kids without them being indoctrinated by the transgender agenda. Abortion is trivial compared to the possibility of not being able to pay your electric bill, or your kid's public school telling them to keep secrets from you..

I'm not sure I agree with Erick here. Being involved in the pro-life movement is for over 30 years, I think pro-life leaders are holding their fire because they have received assurances from RFK and Trump that he won't impose a legalized infanticide agenda on HHS. I'm watching Senator Hawley on this one to see if what I am hearing is true.

Also, you may recall that RFK said something vaguely pro-life when he was running for the Democrat nomination and then had to walk it back when the Dem elite came after him. Just as Trump is not pro-life at his core, I do not think RFK is pro-infanticide at his core.

Again, watch Senator Hawley on this one.

Seems to me this all boils down to not wanting to anger dear leader.

12 weeks, 24 weeks or 1 minute before birth or 2 years old. Maybe, the pro life should concentrate on determining time allowed.

Take a note from anti firearms group. The nothing rules that the NRA has is not working.

The quality of our food is basically poison. It's possible that most of our health issues can be attributed to what's in our food. These issues can range from merely inflammation to coronary, cognitive, to even cancer -- affecting everyone of ALL ages. RFK, Jr. wants to fix that. Yes, RFK, Jr. also supports abortion, as do a LOT of people. He is opposed to full-term abortions. He did not campaign for the HHS position to influence national policy on abortion nor do we have any indication that he will be an activist in the HHS. As others have pointed out, we have the issue of abortion moved to states where it belongs. Focus energies there. Keep the Feds away from our personal values. Support RFK, Jr. to help Make America Healthy Again.

I know this is not the topic at hand but I wanted to reply to Whit: Well, no one wanted to eat as desired by M. Obama. Maybe that's because no one knows how to cook with the foods offered, you know seasonings, etc. to make the food taste better? Or no one realized that reducing fat and salt would allow the food to not taste 'as good' as it did prior to the change? Don't blame the food industry. They manufacture food that people will buy. No one is twisting arms. Also, no one wants to cook food from scratch, everyone wants to have food that never gets stale, no one wants to have ingredients that they cannot pronounce. Tell me why not? What is 'bad' about it? Until people educate themselves on what those 'awful' ingredients are and exactly why they're bad for you, then be quiet and maybe learn from someone besides some self-proclaimed expert. See-oils? GMOs? Do you even know why they are supposedly bad for you? Or, why they were developed in the first place or how much or frequently one should eat them? You buy the food you want. I'll buy the food I want.

As an answer to your question, yes, I am informed on the effects of seed oils, sugar, processed foods in general, insulin spikes, etc. I am also informed in the influence food industries have had on policy.

Moreover, I do blame the food industries for lying to us. They are in the business of making foods that sell. That’s why there is so much sugar in things. Sugar is addictive. When combined with salt, it’s especially addictive because it tastes so good. There is really little difference between the food industry and the pharmaceutical industry when we think about it. Dopamine. And government agencies have been thoroughly corrupted by both. So, you’re right, it is about knowledge. This is what RFK, Jr. is all about.

I agree with allowing people to eat what they want. Cigarettes have warning labels. Perhaps food should too. Maybe this includes tying eligibility for and cost of health insurance to dietary practices as well. Where we allow individual choice, we should have individual consequences, yes? Who do we trust?

This exactly! How much of the cost of healthcare is due to chronic diseases caused in part by our diet? And the big ag and big food regulations that permit highly processed “food like substances” to be sold and consumed?

Expand full comment

Chronic disease may be exacerbated by diet but that does not mean everyone will get them. Think genetics, think lifestyle. Think about the length of time people live now. All of these are factors.

I think the pro-life movement has fallen by the wayside. The whole topic of abortion has become an afterthought as people worry more about issues that really hit home with them. Abortion as a major deal is slowly becoming irrelevant to most people.

I don’t think I need to rely on an organization to enact change.

They do some good. Offering pro life centers and alternative abortion counseling.

My thing is on the abortion issue is that it takes a family. You first teach abstinence through adolescence teenage years etc..

Then teach responsibility and accountability. And then offer support if they do get pregnant.

Want to reduce teen and unwanted pregnancy? If we are serious about it, we as a society, would separate and keep unrelated men and women separated. Especially unmarried women and teenage women. Absolutely no interaction between teenage boys and teenage girls without a chaperone.

We don’t need to go all puritan.

I made it through HS just fine without knocking up a girl. So is my daughter.

My point being we as families can take responsibility and teach our children well as the song says.

And when the situation arises where a child gets pregnant we shouldn’t turn immediately and say “abortion”.

As for adults, they should be trained well enough and morally enough to find alternatives to abortion.
