🚨 Biden Pushed Out
After weeks of doubling down on seeking reelection and scheduling campaign events for later this week, President Joe Biden announced on Twitter he would not be the Democrat’s presidential nominee and threw his support behind Kamala Harris.
The shocking announcement was posted in a letter on Twitter without a video or picture attached. Most White House aids were given no advance notice as some were whipping support for Biden and prepping to defend him on television as the announcement happened. One of Biden’s younger brothers tells CBS that health “absolutely” played a role in his brother’s decision to drop out. The campaign brutally responded by calling the younger brother an alcoholic who hadn’t spoken to the family in weeks.
Biden allegedly ended his campaign because Nancy Pelosi was about to take her anti-Biden pressure campaign public. This is from Politico.
“Nancy made clear that they could do this the easy way or the hard way,” said one Democrat familiar with private conversations who was granted anonymity to speak candidly. “She gave them three weeks of the easy way. It was about to be the hard way.”
The only reason that Biden stayed in the race as long as he did was because he and his team doubted Harris’ ability to beat Donald Trump according to this piece from Axios. (read the bit about Karine Jean-Pierre 😳)
The Harris campaign kicked into full gear raising $66 million from grassroots supporters which set a new fundraising record on the party’s ActBlue platform.
Top prospects for her VP choice are widely perceived to be purple-state governors like Roy Cooper (NC), Andy Beshear (KY), Josh Shapiro (PA), and Gretchen Whitmer (MI). Also in the mix are Arizona Senator Mark Kelley, South Carolina Rep. Jim Clyburn, and unnamed business leaders according to “one of the most influential Hill Democrats” per Politico.
Sen. John Fetterman: “People pushed out an honorable man, loving father and a great president before an absolute sleazeball like Menendez. Congratulations." - X
Kevin McCarthy: "I was told by a couple Democrat Congressional members from California that behind the scenes, Nancy Pelosi says Kamala Harris would be worse than Biden." - X
In honor of the new nominee, here are some of her highlights:
My take: Taking partisanship out of this. Seriously. Kamala Harris has to staff a campaign. She has to decide whether or not to trust the Biden operation, which hasn't been doing great. She's got to have a team theme the DNC and plan it, design it/modify the design, etc. She's got to find a running mate. She's got to find her own messaging that puts distance between her and Biden. She's got to fundraise. Regardless of the politics and partisanship, it is a daunting task. She'll also have to discern between those who want to help and those who are just climbing ladders for themselves. On top of all of this, she's got to consolidate the Democrats behind her to avoid a fight. It is an incredible undertaking in a limited amount of time. - X
Secret Service
Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle is getting absolutely grilled in congressional testimony on Capitol Hill. This is from a Democrat:

Market snapshot:
I think people are way underestimating Kamala and the democratic party here. I read about all the turmoil and gaffes, but how's this different than Trump? He literally can't help himself. He took what was heading toward a great RNC speech and ruined it. And then won't stop talking about 2020. The assassination attempt turned a lot of folks to support Trump (I'm one of them, swore I never would), but there are a lot of people out there who really, really don't like Trump and he's an absolute expert at reminding them why.
I also think people should quit with the Biden unfit to finish out the term talk too, it just looks like a pile on and it is a turn off. I don't care what side you're on, the whole thing is sad for America. The 25th Amendment is there...however unlikely "they" are to use it.
Finally, haven't we all learned by now of the Republican's unparalleled skill at snatching defeat from the jaws of victory???
So.... Biden was forced off the ticket, and Kamala put in his place.
Joe Biden won the Democratic primary.
How many primaries did Kamala win?
Zero, that's how many.
In 2020, she received so few votes that it didn't even register above 0%.
No one voted for her. How can she be the presumptive Democrat nominee?
Is this the "democracy" they all say they love so well?
What we've witnessed here is a real coup d'état.... not just a bunch of frat boys and grandmothers running into the capitol building to take selfies..
