"‘Literally off his rocker’: Why Trump is fixated on Indiana - Politico"
It shows how out of touch is the stupid SOB is. He thinks everyone is as corrupt and dishonest as he is. Banks isn't my district. If he was it would the first time I vote for a Dem
Very little surprises me anymore with KJP. It was totally expected of her to blame republicans for the border crisis. whos playing politics now?
Every single "border bill" they have handed to the republican lead house has had a mountains worth of stuff that doesn't have anything to do with the border. We tried that with the "Inflation act" and it got us nowhere. fat chance we are buying that product again.
So... Donald Trump props up Ronna McDaniel, gets her to drop the "Romney" from her name, supports her through the disastrous midterms, sits back while she exempts him from the debates, grins while she hands him the nomination, and then kicks her to the curb? Sounds about right.
The fecklessness of the GOP to impeach Mayorkis for his clear lying to Congress and his absolute failure to do his job is apparent here. Those three Republicans need to be targeting for removal.
I try to put myself in the shoes of the average American who pays little attention to politics. My gut says that Joe Voter is sick to death of hearing about impeachment, especially with zero chance of conviction, while he can't afford groceries, gas, and housing. Mayorkas is a disaster worthy of impeachment, but he won't be removed from office. If by some miracle he were, Biden would replace him with another person just as bad or worse.
I get that, but immigration is top of the list behind inflation. Again, there is a need to just do the right things instead of playing politics. The electorate is pissed that these elected national politicians don’t just do the right things. Dems play politics with every decision. The GOP needs to just do the right things and do it in solidarity.
I get that, too. There's zero chance of removing Mayorkas from office, though. Impeachment in the House without conviction in the Senate (which Mayorkas clearly deserves) is a slap on the wrist.
But then it does further damage to the Democrats as having blocked the impeachment. Now they can just say that the GOP is complicit in supporting the current border mess.
Name any impeachment over the last 20 years that has stuck… approved by both the House and Senate. Impeachment is always largely symbolic. But when justified it should be done.
The only good news here is more GOP voters going to Trump as the old establishment cannot seem to do the right things when it comes to immigration.
As the great Maha Rushie would have said, symbolism over substance. Trump and the GOP had two years with control of the executive and legislature. If DeSantis could build a bridge to Sanibel Island in 15 days, you'd think Trump could have built a wall in two years.
Congress holds the purse strings and congress was filled with the uniparty majority (all Dem and part of GOP) that welcomes the flood of immigrants and thus thwarted Trump in getting funding approved to pay for the wall.
You can make the case that Trump did not horse trade enough, but he did. However, the uniparty establishment has always been against immigration reform.
The Stay In Mexico agreement was one of Trump’s greatest accomplishments outside of building some wall. Biden deleted that rule on day one.
DeSantis has a Republican state legislature and more executive authority for funding the bridge construction. Yes, Trump shoots himself in the foot making enemies out of all the thin-skinned whiners and snibblers in the legislature, but again, there is this moral line about doing the right thing and not playing politics.
I come from the principle of leaders doing the right things for the long-term consequences.
Many businesses and banks HQ'd in western nations are ramping up their trade and financial deals with India. Why? Because the Chinese economic miracle is now recognized as smoke and mirrors, a hollow and deeply-in-debt shell. This change has less to do with "tensions" than it does with making secure investments.
Great point made by Chip Roy: If any president can close the border by declaring it closed, why didn't Trump? I'm glad we still have a handful of Congressmen with integrity.
He did, or tried. When Trump tried to close the Border when he entered office in 2016 he got vilified and called a racist. Other times they released false images of border agents whipping illegals. Which was untrue.
Then when he did declare it closed and immigrants rushed the border fence they had to use tear gas to back them off and again, more images of running scared women and children. A false narrative.
It sounds like he caved under pressure. Should Trump win reelection, the pressure will be far worse this time around. Why should we trust him to get the job done?
According to one skilled commentator, the Republican who switched votes on the Mayorkas vote at the last minute did so, because House rules only permit the winning side to retable an issue for a second vote. If the GOP picks up more House seats AND control of the Senate this fall, this bill will be reintroduced. This looks like intelligent strategy from the GOP, for a change.

My choice for RNC chair?
Leo (2.0) Terrell.
How do I get off Trump’s text spam? I reply “Stop” and just get more. I’m supposed to be “barred from Maga” anyway for disloyalty.
I just block the numbers.

I guess the Nikki meltdown was too painful for any commentary. 😊
