Evacuating Gaza
The Israeli military dropped leaflets ordering the evacuation of Gaza City in northern Gaza allegedly in preparation for a formal ground invasion. The United Nations immediately condemned the move demanding Israel to rescind the order to over 1.1 million residents due to humanitarian concerns.
Hamas is demanding that residents ignore the order and shelter in place as Israeli troops continue to grow along the border with Gaza. The Times of Israel is reporting that Hamas is physically forcing residents of Northern Gaza from evacuating so they can use them as human shields.
The underlying problem for the densely packed 2.3 million residents of Gaza is they have nowhere to go. Without food, water, and power, the border with Israel remains understandably closed while Egypt has refused to accept refugees. The same European and Middle Eastern countries demanding Israel protect the Palestinians are also refusing to accept them as refugees. Notably, the United Nations is not pressuring Egypt to accept refugees.
Iran
The Biden administration has reversed its decision to unfreeze $6 billion in embargoed oil revenue it promised Iran in exchange for five American citizens.
The White House caved to bipartisan pressure demanding Iran be punished after a Wall Street Journal piece claimed the Hamas attacks were sponsored and supported by Iran.
Day of Rage
The former leader of Hamas, Khaled Mashal, has called for today to be a worldwide “Day of Rage” and asked that followers be ready and willing to shed blood. Pro-Hamas protests are expected in some major cities in the United States and across Europe. A Chechen national killed a teacher in France while another terrorist attack was stopped by French authorities.
FBI: “We are working closely with our law enforcement partners across the country to share information and identify and disrupt any threats that may emerge. As always, we take seriously any tips or leads we receive regarding potential threats and investigate them rigorously to determine their credibility."
Speakerless House
Steve Scalise has withdrawn his candidacy to become Speaker of the House citing a lack of unity across the conference. Jim Jordan is the only nominated candidate for Speaker but faces an uphill battle with a contingency of moderate Republicans remaining firmly against him. With multiple GOP House members already out of town for the weekend, it is unlikely that a Speaker will be selected.
Jake Sherman at Punchbowl: “There is so much bad blood in the conference right now it's absolutely stunning. Leadership is a mess -- backstabbing right and left between aides, lawmakers and allies. Way worse than its ever been.” - Twitter

And I feel so confident in the FBI’s job.
This is the same bureau that could track down someone from J6 but couldn’t determine who’s Cocain was in the White House?
The FBI is corrupted and compromised. We can’t trust them.
“ Two men in their early twenties from Lebanon were apprehended at the Texas/Mexico border…”
These are the ones we caught. Can you imagine?
I thought that, post 9-11, rules (including the naming of a Speaker Pro Tempore) were put in place to allow for continuity of government should there be vacancies in the Executive and Legislative Branches.
If so... why can't the House operate? Why even have a Speaker Pro Tempore if he/she can't do squat?
If not, there needs to be something put in place so that this NEVER happens again.
