The Nominee
Vice President Kamala Harris formally accepted her party’s presidential nomination in a well-executed 40-minute speech that was heavy on platitudes and light on policy. She claimed she would create opportunity for all, enhance housing options, and reduce prices without detailing specifics or caring to explain why the Biden-Harris administration failed to do so.
Even The New York Times pointed out that some of her most significant policy positions were total flip-flops from what she believed just a few years ago.
She has backtracked on fracking, flipped on “Medicare for all” and recanted on not considering border crossings criminal — all with little blowback.

Trump
In the most shocking news of the day, Donald Trump appears to have buried the hatchet with Brian Kemp.
The surprising post followed a JD Vance’s campaign event in South Georgia which led to a meeting between Vance and Kemp.
Donald Trump called into Fox News to rail on Kamala Harris’s convention speech when it ended but Bret Baier and Martha McCallum had to cut him off to go to Greg Gutfeld’s show. So instead, Donald Trump called Greg Gutfeld’s cell phone live on air. Watch:
From The Guardian:
The independent US presidential candidate Robert F Kennedy Jr has filed paperwork to withdraw from presidential ballots in the state of Arizona, the Arizona secretary of state, Adrian Fontes, said.
The withdrawal came as Kennedy was set to address the nation on Friday in Arizona amid reports that his presidential ambitions are coming to a close, with falling numbers both in fundraising and in the polls.
A Super Pac supporting Kennedy told Reuters on Wednesday that Kennedy wanted a deal with Donald Trump in which he endorsed his Republican rival in exchange for a job in a potential Trump administration.
Trump told CNN this week he would “certainly be open” to Kennedy playing a role in his administration if the independent candidate dropped out of the race and endorsed him.
Rate Cuts?
Jerome Powell’s speech in Jackson Hole Wyoming is fueling speculation of significant rate cuts thanks to his aggressive language regarding the state of the US labor market. The only question remaining is whether the cut will be .25 or .50. Here are the quotes that have investor’s attention:
“The time has come for policy to adjust.”
“We don’t seek or welcome further labor market cooling.”
“My confidence has grown that inflation is on a path to 2%.”
"Overall, the economy continues to grow at a solid pace. But the inflation and labor market data show an evolving situation. The upside risks to inflation have diminished. And the downside risks to employment have increased."

Market snapshot:
20 million watched the DNC for three nights in a row.
So there are a confirmed 20 million deranged lunatic potential voters running loose amongst us.
Scott Jennings is spot on. He needs to be careful or someone in the DOJ or IRS might think he needs to be investigated.
The thing that bothers me the most about the DNC is how blatantly, freely and unabashedly they lie to the American people.
