BREAKING: Roe v. Wade is dead

Today, the Supreme Court said it plainly, perhaps more plainly than I could. “The Constitution does not confer a right to abortion; Roe and Casey are overruled; and the authority to regulate abortion is returned to the people and their elected representatives.” Here is the text.

Alito points out the lawyers for Dobbs gave the Court no middle ground. They argued the 15 week ban in Mississippi meant either Roe must go or the ban must go. Challenge accepted.

Whatever you think of Donald Trump, today’s victory for the pro-life movement would not have happened without the justices he nominated to the Supreme Court.

Catholic Church Prepares for Attacks From Abortion-Rights Activists

This is from Newsweek:

The Catholic Church is heeding federal law enforcement's warning that a radical group is "calling for extreme violence" against churches nationwide in response to the Supreme Court's expected reversal of abortion rights.

An internal document obtained by Newsweek outlines intelligence shared by the Department of Homeland Security with the Catholic Church of a planned "Night of Rage," targeting churches and pregnancy centers over their opposition to abortion rights. The document sheds light on how law enforcement and the church are bracing for backlash after a leaked opinion showed the Supreme Court preparing to rescind federal abortion rights.

CNBC is DONE with Biden

The anchors at CNBC are increasingly hostile to the Biden administration. CNBC ripped the White House’s statement on domestic oil production as “political wordle” in a heated segment this morning.

Ukraine Orders Withdrawal From Severodonetsk to Avoid Encirclement

This is from The Wall Street Journal:

Ukraine ordered its troops to withdraw from their remaining foothold in the city of Severodonetsk to avoid encirclement, ending a battle that lasted nearly two months and giving Russia a small but symbolically important victory in the grinding war for control of eastern Ukraine’s Donbas area.

Severodonetsk, a city of just over 100,000 people before the war, served as the administrative center of Ukrainian-controlled parts of Luhansk, one of the two regions that make up Donbas. Most of the city was taken by Russian troops in recent weeks, with Ukrainian defenders mostly holed up in the sprawling Azot industrial plant.

Today the Supreme Court correctly returned the power to regulate abortion to the states. I will soon introduce a proposal to support mothers and their babies so that every child has a real opportunity to pursue the promise of America.

"...the authority to regulate abortion is returned to the people and their elected representatives"

Ah, the federal Dem campaign coffers will certainly suffer. PP et al no longer need to feed the federal Dem machine - it can no longer protect their grisly business, they will have to work state-to-state for air cover now.

This distribution of power from federal to state will cost the pro-death crowd big bucks, diluting their ability to influence from 535 Congress-critters (plus POTUS sometimes) to literally thousands of state-level politicians in every city, town and hamlet.

Much harder to control the national narrative when DC is no longer in charge. Hopefully we will also see a decline in PP's ability to keep its doors open spending all their time and money trying to stay afloat politically across multiple blue states preserving the right to kill the unborn...

God uses rulers to accomplish His will, even mean-tweeters ;-). Blessed be the name of the Lord!
