UCLA & Columbia

NYPD officers decked out in riot gear breached Columbia University’s Hamilton Hall days after antisemitic college protestors took over the building. More than 300 protestors were arrested after police officers were forced to use flash grenades, distraction devices, and pepper spray to subdue the rioters.

Trash: The iconic Hamilton Hall is completely trashed as pictures and videos have emerged of complete carnage on the inside. The university announced that protestors will be charged with third-degree burglary, criminal mischief, and trespassing.

LOL: Hours before Hamilton Hall was cleared, protestors sent out this messenger demanding the school provide them food.

UCLA: After a Jewish girl was knocked unconscious by antisemitic protestors, pro-Israel protesters stormed the campus of UCLA and clashed with Hamas sympathizers while destroying their encampments. For more than two hours, the UCLA campus looked more like a war zone as police refused to intervene in the fighting. Late last night, riot police were deployed and an unconfirmed number of people were arrested.

While Columbia has received the bulk of media attention, police were dispatched last night to the campuses of UCLA, Tulane, Florida State, South Florida, North Carolina, Texas, and Arizona. Currently, school administrators are negotiating with protestors at Yale, Portland State, and Southern Cal. Brown University reached an agreement with protestors after the school agreed to hold a public vote on whether the university should divest from Israel.

After repeatedly being urged by top Republicans and Donald Trump himself against this, Marjorie Taylor Greene has filed a motion to vacate against House Speaker Mike Johnson.

Details: Donald Trump and his hand-picked co-chair of the RNC told Greene before her announcement this morning that the move is not helpful and would limit the Republicans’ ability to grow their majority in the House. This is from Politico:

Republicans are particularly frustrated because Greene’s renewal of her campaign against the speaker stole oxygen from their messaging push on antisemitism this week. Instead of going on the offense by attacking Democrats for insufficiently condemning pro-Palestinian protests on campuses, Republicans are now bracing for Greene to drag them into another internal fight that most of them would rather delay until after Election Day.

Biden Considers Bringing Palestinians To US

The Biden administration is considering bringing certain Palestinians to the U.S. as refugees, a move that would offer a permanent safe haven to some of those fleeing war-torn Gaza, according to internal federal government documents obtained by CBS News.

The proposals to resettle certain Palestinians as refugees would mark a shift in longstanding U.S. government policy and practice. Since its inception in 1980, the U.S. refugee program has not resettled Palestinians in large numbers.
