Here is some of the "misinformation" from the Trump/Musk conversation. You can see why the Wash Post reporter was worried about its spreading.

- Cut government spending

- Deregulate

- Make our cities safe

- Secure the border

- Restore respect for the judicial system

- Protect the environment but not at the cost of destroying the gas & oil industries

To your point--the Republicans have been basically rudderless for the past 4 years. No natural leader stood up to fill the void except for the two I supported. How in the hell they got pushed aside in favor of Trump is a lesson in base politics. They had no base to compete against Trump. Trump got no real pushback from anyone else in the party. Instead all the boys just seemed to fall in line when they gave up thinking they could beat him or control him. Sad, but that's what we have now, And, as I stated earlier, Trump will get my vote as long as he puts the health of the country--as a whole--over the interest of the few.

The caller that just referenced Bill Cosby perfectly represents the state of mind of the Republican party primary voter - THEY(whoever the F that is) put Cosby in prison for daring to tell black men to straighten up. Never mind the evidence of him repeatedly drugging and raping women.

This was a perfect corollary for the sentiment on Trump - forget the evidence of the multiple crimes he has committed - THEY are out to get him for standing up to the system.

Also, if the UK and the EU want to impose their regs on us, I suggest we file civil rights suits against their governments for 1A violations.

Why does the EU threatening Musk not constitute foreign interference with an election?

I have one very simple, truthful comment. If you think for one second that a Harris-Walz Administration would protect this country or its Allies in the face of aggression from Iran, China, Russia or North Korea you are as demented as Joe Biden. Stop the games and get straight to this point. If you value our country--even as flawed as it can be--and you appreciate the freedoms you have as a citizen, you cannot allow a weak Administration to come to power. There is no doubt, given past proclaimed policies of Harris and Walz, that the military defense of this country, the sovereignty of our borders and the safety of our citizens would be sacrificed further than has already resulted under a failed Biden Administration.

I am not a Trump fan, I supported Nikki Haley after Ron Desantis. Harris and Walz are incompetent to understand the economy and as a result can't responsibly author fiscal policy. They have NO experience with foreign policy at all and will thus fail to support the strength we need militarily and simply could not understand trade policy. I'll take Trump over these two any day!!

Like Joe, I'm not a Trump fan. However, Harris and Walz make Trump look like the Easter Bunny. I just don't think it matters to most voters, I heard "Harris is a girlboss. She's SO cool!" the other day from my GenZ daughter. Millennials and most of GenX are exactly the same. Orange Man Bad is the only thing they know. They might not like Harris, but they really think she's much better than Orange Hitler and so she's the only choice. Trump went from what was looking like a landslide victory to getting trampled by the Left's "Special Candidate" in less than a month.

I remember at the start of the campaign a lot (some?) Republicans were saying they didn't want Trump and of course could not vote for the Fossil-In-Chief. In fact a lot of the center-left was saying the same thing. "Anyone But Trump/Biden." The Democrats just pulled one of the greatest electoral upsets in history and all they had to do was remove their side of the equation. I don't think Trump stands a chance, and I'm saying that as someone who despises Cackles "Yes We Can" and the Left.

It really has come back to bite Republicans in the arse. Strategically, it LOOKED the right thing to do at the time and it really looked like it was working. That was early July. It hasn't helped his campaign that Trump can't keep his mouth shut and has said some monumentally stupid things since then. It doesn't matter whether any of the things were true, or not. This is POLITICS and perception is REALITY. Are we going to do the same things as the Democrats and say the people are just too stupid to figure out Trump is the better choice?

Swing states are now reflecting this. Maybe that will change. I'm not sure it matters anymore. If Trump wins, great, we can all dance around saying how "we" kept the Harris/Walz Left Juggernaut out of government while the Left gets busy burning cities and the media tells us it's Trump's fault for winning the election and killing democracy.

@Kathy, it's not just that Trump does things Erick doesn't like. It's that he opens his mouth and reminds people of just how much of an a**hole he is. Chaz would say, who cares if he's unlikable, I say yeah, it matters because Politics. Yes, what you said is EXACTLY what my Democrat family thinks: let it burn, just keep it away from Orange Man Bad. Save Democracy (tm). Yes, I'm getting ready to survive through another term worse than this one. Trump will lose and then when something goes wrong, he'll get blamed because Jan 6th Insurrection.

Getting ready for the production of "Don't Blame Me, I Voted For Haley" bumper stickers <smile>

Well, I hope you are prepared to survive through another term worse than the one we are in now. Because from what some are saying, people here included, they are willing to let the country burn to the ground rather than vote for Trump. Even Eric seems to be open to that idea since he is one of the first to launch into an attack when Trump does something he doesn't like.

The Democrat Convention should be pay-per-view TV, sponsored by the WWF and the MMA folks.

Too much entertainment value in watching The Battle of the Woke Commies to broadcast it for free.

"The nation’s best hackers found vulnerabilities in voting machines — but no time to fix them" And once again, conspiracy theorists are proven right. If they can do it, and they weren't even really trying, anyone can. It doesn't matter. The fact that they "can" throws the whole thing into doubt.

I don't like paper ballots. They are archaic and have their own issues, but its very difficult to hack a paper ballot.

And this doesn't even count the states that dont require an ID. YES, you can literally walk into 1 polling station in Penn, give a name on the voting roster, vote. Then get in your car drive to another polling station and vote again giving a completely different name. No ID check, no problem. Times that 1000 and add in mail in ballots. You see where this goes.

Kamala on her own deserves to lose for how much the media and she is lying about herself. But she should lose based on Tim Waltz. and this is why I dont think her support is as wide as the media is reporting. Some of these polls are "opinion" polls. But when it comes down to it, how are they actually going to check the box on election day?

I agree that Tim is a radical, but unfortunately history has well shown that people don't vote based on VP's. There have been some real stinkers in the past which is why Bush Sr was the only VP to win after an 8 year incumbency recently, and really one of the few VP's to capture the presidency. Yes Nixon did win and he was a VP but that was well after the Kennedy Admin.

If Kamala wins, which it looks less likely every day, then she will join one of only a handful that has.

Point being. Its great to go after Tim Waltz, but historically people don't vote based on the running mate.

Of note, Rasmussen when asking in their polling lists the Presidential candidate and the VP, where as Times/Sienna and the rest did not. They simply said "Who would choose and then listed the candidates by First name only." So, hmmm.

Maybe this will be the first time that happens. Who knows?

Good question.

Rumors are that she asked Shapiro and they said “no” because of Kamala’s shown anti Israel stance.
