Toyota new battery costs 7500 for the part, Pacifica costs 13500 for the part, that isn't including cost of labor. If you can afford that, put 1 to 2 k away a year for the repair that is going to happen in 6 or 7 years then you are good to go. You get 10 more mile per gallon with hybrid vs non, do you save that much in gas ? Will it pay for itself? these are the questions you should ask. I've always wondered if your in a colder climate during the winter, does the hybrid not give you as much mpg savings as a warm climate? These are the same question you should ask when your looking at a ev as well. We are looking at the Hondas or Kias because they don't have the hybrids incase anyone is wondering.
