Progressive Women Ignore Israeli Rape
New testimony reveals disturbing accounts of systematic rape and violence perpetrated by Hamas militants against young Israeli women on October 7th. While we won’t go into the details of this Jewish Chronicle piece, the police commander leading the investigation, said: “It’s clear now that sexual crimes were part of the planning and the purpose was to terrify and humiliate people.
Despite the new testimony, alleged feminist and Democratic House Rep. Pramila Jayapal told CNN’s Dana Bash that “we have to be balanced” in condemning the mass number of rapes committed against Israeli women on October 7th. Watch:
Jayapal’s interview was so bad it caused fellow House progressive Ritchie Torres to denounce her comments by saying,
Rape and sexual violence against Israeli women calls for nothing less than unequivocal condemnation. Israel did not invade Palestinian homes and rape and sexually violate Palestinian women. Hamas did invade Israeli homes and did rape and sexually violate Israeli women. There is no “balance” or “both sides” or “moral equivalence” here. Period.
Bonus: It took the United Nations Women’s Council 57 days to finally produce a statement condemning Hamas’s attacks on Israel.
Ditching Bidenomics
House Democrats are officially ditching the term Bidenomics in their campaign messaging in favor of "People Over Politics.”
Context: While the White House staunchly defends the term, the not-so-subtle shift in messaging matches Biden’s reelection ads and recent speeches. Following devastating polling around Biden’s handling of the economy, it has been over a month since the Biden team used the term in prepared speeches or early ad buys.

Another War?
Venezuelans voted overwhelmingly in favor of a ballot measure that would approve the militarized takeover of an oil-rich region in neighboring Guyana. While Venezuela has historically claimed this region as its own, the ballot measure is more likely a political move by President Nicolas Maduro ahead of a challenging reelection bid against the surging Maria Corina Machado.
More: Biden’s national security team is “extremely concerned” that Maduro missed a key deadline to release wrongfully detained American prisoners. The alleged release was in accordance with a deal struck with the Biden administration that would ease international sanctions on Venezuelan oil.
3 commercial ships hit by missiles in Houthi attack in Red Sea, US warship downs 3 drones
Ballistic missiles fired by Yemen’s Houthi rebels struck three commercial ships Sunday in the Red Sea, while a U.S. warship shot down three drones in self-defense during the hourslong assault, the U.S. military said. The Iranian-backed Houthis claimed two of the attacks.
The strikes marked an escalation in a series of maritime attacks in the Mideast linked to the Israel-Hamas war, as multiple vessels found themselves in the crosshairs of a single Houthi assault for the first time in the conflict. The U.S. vowed to “consider all appropriate responses” in the wake of the attack, specifically calling out Iran, after tensions have been high for years now over Tehran’s rapidly advancing nuclear program.
