Schwab Survey Reveals That Americans Think It Takes $2.5 Million to Be Considered Wealthy in 2024...

I suspect, if "net worth" is the objective definition, that most of the people responding don't actually understand what "net worth" means.

Particularly younger people. My wife and I have accumulated almost one million in assets even after subtracting the associated debt. I have news for you, we are not "financially comfortable" because of it, we are comfortable because we both work.

I suspect people are conflating 3 things

- assets/ physical things that have value,

- cash/simi-liquid in the bank,

- earning that amount per year.

For us to realize one million in the bank would mean having no place to live, and if not for our income from working a dramatic down grade in life style of that one million were to last 25 years.

The premise of the Constitution is in fact that the power of the government corrupts.

But what is government itself, but the greatest of all reflections on human nature? If men were angels, no government would be necessary. If angels were to govern men, neither external nor internal controls on government would be necessary
