If George HW Bush had actually flown to Iran in an SR-freaking-71 to negotiate the release of hostages, there is no way on God's Green Earth that the Iranians would have ever let it leave. It would have been held and put up for sale to the highest bidder, most likely to the Soviets, who, for many years, had been feverishly trying to develop missile systems and interceptor aircraft.... such as the MiG-23 and MiG-25... that would enable them to bring down an SR-71.
They never got anywhere close, much to their chagrin.
Not to mention that fact that the head of the CIA, as well as the pilot, would now have been held hostage as well.
Also not to mention the fact that the SR-71 needs very specialized ground-crews and equipment in order to service it, including a highly-specialized jet fuel known as "JP-7 Turbine Fuel Low Volatility". You can't just use any old kerosene/jet fuel in an aircraft like that.
Good gosh we elect some really dumb people to lead the country. Coming from an old guy that has watched Washington politics from the days of Nixon and Watergate, everyone has known that Biden is a fool. Now we know, in addition to being a fool he is a money grabbing fool out to enrich his own family even if it hurts the US.
Don't think of the two parties taking their turns in the WH as reruns but as a pair of sequels series intertwining w/ new leading men each time. However, this time the Dems are taking a second crack at having a "leading lady" break the glass ceiling, both times running against the nation's #1 misogynist posing as the leader of a political moment which wants to return to an era when women, minorities (racial, ethnic and religious) and the LGBTQ were hidden and/or kept in a subservient role in the community as well as the business and public sectors. The primary difference between H.Clinton and K.Harris is that the former spent decades in her husband's shadow and the latter has done it w/o needing a leading man to show the way.
About what? The current state of the nation? The GOP which sold itself to the devil in 2016 and a decade later still thinks it got a good deal? The Democrats who have untapped the talent of the non-white straight male American population much better than the GOP?
