The United States is currently embroiled in another political controversy. Next week, there will be another one. Each one will distract us. We should work hard to not be distracted from Christmas. We should not be distracted from a key miracle that started the Christian faith.
Merry Christmas! The birth of our Lord and Savior! Those texts are pretty damning though. I remember Judge Joe Brown once said, "if you send something via text message, you might as well be chiseling it in stone." So true.
ββ¦it is not a far leap to suggest if one cannot believe in a virgin birth, one will probably also lack the faith to believe in a physical resurrection of Jesus.β I may be the exception, then. I fervently believe in the resurrection. But, color me virgin birth skeptic.
I believe in God the Father almighty, maker of Heaven and earth. I believe Jesus Christ, His only Son our Lord. He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary.......
Also remember we have the work of Josephus the Jewish Historian of the time that directly references Jesus. βAbout this time there lived Jesus, a wise man. For he was one who performed surprising deeds and was a teacher of such people as accept the truth gladly. He won over many Jews and many of the Greeks. And when, upon the accusation of the principal men among us, Pilate had condemned him to a cross, those who had first come to love him did not cease. And the tribe of the Christians, so called after him, has still to this day not disappeared.β Josephus was most likely not a follower of Christ but rather was merely recording history, yet the details are clearly the same as the Bible text.

Yes, I believe. Merry Christmas.
