Unintended consequences of lock-down policies - the parents actually observed classroom content first-hand. For roughly 40 years, parental involvement in our education system has decreased with dual-income families too busy with professional life to parent effectively ... particularly when it comes to watching their children's educators and curriculum. We just trusted that our young people were getting solid training for trade school or college. We didn't listen to those 'activist' parents that warned education is drifting (paddling madly?) toward indoctrination and away from classical liberal education - reading, writing, math, arts, physical activity, philosophy/rhetoric/critical thinking. We see each area either diluted or even eliminated depending on that subject's threat to education system's elitist sociological experimentation on our children. Now we got to see some of it real-time...and parents realize their trust in the education system has been betrayed.
Teachers now tell students what to think rather than imparting skills for evaluating content for truth/falsehood. Critical thinking threatens effective indoctrination. Our "education system" is failing our children in the short term, and our entire nation in the long term. Imagine when Congress is full of AOC's peers...
Just ask Pol Pot what his plan was for those educated enough to think for themselves...
I was able to listen to most of Erick's show and this is the first time I can 100% say, hell yeah man, you showed some testicular fortitude today. Side note, if O'bidens handlers had any idea about the trade market in the US that has already developed amongst us common folks, they'd probably go back to Roosevelt's time and outlaw gold, silver and other precious metals.
Newton's Third Law of Physics states: "For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction." The same could be said of politics, except that the reaction is quite often not equal to the action, it's stronger and more intense, a classic "backdraft".
The transgender bathroom laws were started by leftists, and honestly, transgenders had probably been using the restroom of their choice for years, with no one the wiser, but then leftists decided to make it a "law" that they could...and here we are. They should have remembered that the same issue "genderless restrooms", was, in part, what kept the ERA from passing.
The anti-abortion bills the leftists are screaming about...would they have ever gotten off the ground had the leftists not insisted on abortion on demand up until the moment of birth? Had abortion stayed where it started, "safe, legal and RARE", without the push to make them not only safe and legal, but a cause for celebration, taxpayer funded and on demand even during the birth process...anti-abortion bills would probably not have received as much support.
Had school boards paid respectful attention to parents concerns, instead of rudely dismissing them as mere bigotry and trying to silence them, insisting that only the government can be in charge of education and parents need to just sit down, shut up and go away...they might not have become such a flash point.
The classic itch you can't scratch: When you know in your deepest core that the position you hold is immoral or unnatural but expound on it incessantly you never stop demanding more and more confirmation from others to try to stop the itch that gnaws on you from the inside. Finally, the house of cards comes tumbling down as it always must. There is a "jump the shark" moment in most things in life.
No. Were you watching the Zoom lessons to know they weren't teaching CRT or whatever they were calling it? I have seen and read about enough parents who dispute what you say to believe them.
I retired from a school system in the South even, and I know how things go there. Common Core is a good example. Not the best way to teach for every child, but it was their way or the highway. Just an example.
I am also a grandfather but am wise enough to understand that my grandchildren's parents both know and care a hell of a lot more about their son's and daughter's education than I ever will. So, I am not credible in this regard James and neither are you.
The Democrats deserve the blood bath that they will reap in the mid terms. The Avignon’s governor’s race could be the leading edge of turning the tide.

Amen to this article!!!!

Extremism ruins everything.

I live in Virginia. Whoo boy, you’re mischaracterizing a lot.
Like what? Are you in the bubble also? Do you know anyone who doesn't think like you do?
Oh, I don’t know, how about, “They weren't teaching kids to read. They weren't teaching kids to write. They weren't teaching kids math.”? Nonsense.
Tutors are much better w/o the BS CRT.
Good to know
Do you have a child in school there so you know first hand?
Grandchild. You?
No. Were you watching the Zoom lessons to know they weren't teaching CRT or whatever they were calling it? I have seen and read about enough parents who dispute what you say to believe them.

I did not say they weren’t teaching CRT, or whatever it is. Please read what Erich wrote. See my quote from the article.

I trust your judgment that you have no credibility on the subject.
