Climate Change is a bald faced lie and used to get you knuckle under.

They are a Damn Cult!

Unbelievable how they just distort everything and talk like like it is fact. Where the heck do these people come from I just don’t get it.

How about the legacy of Walter Cronkite? He is the only newsman who was ever known as the most trusted man in America.

Yes, Erick, networks make mistakes occasionally. Kind of like when FOX management went all in on the election lies of their infotainment staff and ended up paying 3/4 of a billion dollars because of it. I don't recall you telling people not to watch FOX after that. So why, when so many in our country are misinformed, would you encourage them to not watch CBS, or any network for that matter? To have a balanced and fact-based view, people must consume information from various sources, compare the biases and spin of each, and come to a conclusion on their own after considering all the angles.

SP. I don't disagree with anything you said with regards to Fox. There are several people on Fox that are so far in the tank for Trump it is sickening, and they deserved to be held liable in court for advancing what was clearly a lie. I can no longer watch any of the evening personalities (Hannity must by on his third pair of Trump knee pads) as they have lost all perspective. But there are two things I would point out.

1. Brett Bair IMO is the most balanced of all News people in the business. He will ask hard questions to both sides, and as a general rule reports the news straight.

2. Fox is the only place any conservative can go to get "our side" of the story talked about. Not only CBS, but all of the networks and of course the MS/CNN's of the world are working so hard to push the Cackling Queen over the finish line, Fox stands out as the only place to hear what an unmitigated disaster she would be as pres. I cannot stand Trump, but he is the lesser of the two evils (as bad as he is)!!!

Erick's reasoning for not supporting CBS is driven primarily by the antisemitic position they have clearly taken. One does not need to be Jewish to recognize how despicable this is, and what this once great network has become.

Niel Cavuto is also a straight up guy at FOX. But he and Bret are it. I try to watch both of them, but I also check in on the Trumpers at FOX after 7:00. They slant things as much for Trump as MSNBC does for Harris. CNN will cover "both sides" much more so than FOX will, and their primetime shows are much more news based than is FOX's sycophant line up. As for Erick's view on Israel, he appears to think that Israel can do no wrong, and never has done any wrong. The truth is a lot more complicated than that, but Erick views any criticism of Israel's actions as antisemitism.

Speaking of media options. I have just today received a complimentary copy of the "Epoch Times newspaper. I would like to hear opinions about it's validity and accuracy as a news souce. Mr Erickson, i would appreciate your opinion as well. Thank you all.

I haven’t watched CBS news since the Bush Administration. The duck “theory” seemed like such a low point for the great Walter Cronkite network.

Jim Dee's avatar

Agree. CBS manipulated Obama's reelection by lying about the Benghazi terror attack and murder.

Sydney Weaver's avatar

Agree!

And....did you see how there were 2 sets of answers to a question given to Kamala? CBS is not releasing the transcript. Definitely fishy! :(

Oh I long for the days where the news is: We report, you decide.

Neil McKenna's avatar

But wasn't "We report, you decide" the motto of a certain cable news network that had to pay almost $800 million to a voting machine company FOR DELIBERATELY LYING TO YOU?

Weasel's avatar

Tucker was A commentator not an actual news reporter. The fact that he had to many times investigate is because of the absolute lack of unbiased and sometimes misleading or outright false information coming from formally respected news stations. Tucker and others on Fox not the same that you seem confused on that fact is part of problem we have. We know who biased on Fox as commentators but they still do better investigations than actual journalists and news anchors. News should be facts not the The View!

Sydney Weaver's avatar

Good point...I didn't think about that (sorry!)

I agree with you, facts not a view (or 'The View'!)

Sydney Weaver's avatar

very possible.

I am taking their words as words that would be healthy for our nation when it comes to journalism. They report and we decide :) :)

Neil McKenna's avatar

Lies are never healthy, for this or any other nation.

Sydney Weaver's avatar

Oh my, total typo from me....I didn't mean what I said about words being healthy. I am ABSOLUTELY for the TRUTH. I'm grateful that I do know the truth (spiritually speaking) and I HATE A LIE and the father of all lies! :)

Neil McKenna's avatar

More whining about the mainstream media. As if conservatives don't have their own media, which leans every bit as far right as more rational journalists lean left.

If you don't like the mainstream media, just watch Fox News . . . . Oh, wait. Fox News had to pay almost $800 million to a voting machine company FOR DELIBERATELY LYING TO YOU.

Ok, this has been pointed out 3 times. I guess that's the hill you're willing to die on. And, yes, people should be looking at more than one viewpoint but I just don't believe doing that is very common, at all.

Nuff said. The media is idiotic and slanted left. What else is new. The biggest issue is that the avg citizen doesn't even realize it.

Someone said recently that a LEGAL immigrant came here from China and was asked if he saw the news or did so in his country of origin and his answer was simple. They don't watch the news in China its inaccurate and propaganda so its useless. Pretty much the same is happening here.

Why watch outlets like MSNBC and NBC and CBS when its so slanted to be unreliable. May as well call it the Democratic Peoples network of Socialists of America.

My wife and I toured China in 2012. We received a paper in English at the different hotels that could only be described as the “Happy Paper.”

Rick Williamson's avatar

Your title should have been, "This is what CBS 'News' has become." And you didn't even mention the replacing of Kamala's original answer on 60 Minutes with another, (only slightly) more cogent one.

Sydney Weaver's avatar

Oh, I just wrote that before I saw your comment!

I grew up watching CBS news. I grew up thinking the N.Y. Times and the Washington Post were the panicales of objective unbiased reporting.

Looks like I was wrong on several counts. At this point any allusion to objectivity on their parts is sorely misplaced.

The sad thing is, they've all become a joke and don't rralize it. How depressing.

All three subscriptions are now cancelled.

I sometimes watch MSNBC and CBS just to hear what my liberal friends are hearing.

It’s unhealthy because my blood pressure usually goes really high when listening to the elite socialist.

Richard Rayburn's avatar

My mom knew my Dad’s dementia was getting worse when he started watching MSNBC. Take note Ron.

ChazAtl's avatar

better to watch Yahoo if you want a taste. The format on NBC and CBS is unwatchable. Their headlines are slanted, the articles are filled with opinions not news.

Example, Whenever they say "Trump" its always followed with an opinionated comment.

"Former president Trump, who orchestrated the Jan 6th attack on the Capitol in 2021 visited the North Carolina disaster area....." And then proceeds to give false information then ends it with another opinionated line. "Republicans, who continue to deny climate change, was reached out for comment and had this to say on the subject.."

Its all nonsense at this point and not worth anyone's Time.

TravlnSuz's avatar

It's just that editorializing is in just about EVERY article. We may read the facts but then the author just HAS to put their spin on it. I am turned off by that & then less likely to view, listen or read.

Ron's avatar

But they do not do that with

Bill Clinton Purgery conviction relating to Sexual Harassment of a Subordinate employee???

The mainstream media is clearly antisemite... and possibly sympathetic and supportive of Islamic terrorism. The cause is the hiring that has been done over the last decade of campus corrupted wokesters... primarily white females... and the sissy corporate media executives that capitulate to the woke social media mobs.

Interesting if you look at many of the colleges in the US getting lots of money from nations with extremist Islam cultures and leaders and a hatred for Israel and jews.

As is generally the case, when trying to explain political trends and behaviors... follow the money.

CBS needs Brian Williams from NBC…a man who would solve the problems in Middle East single-handedly!

If he's still not not dealing with PTSD after his brush with death in a war zone where he narrowly escaped with his life after his plane was almost destroyed by ground fire.

Like Joe Biden’s brush with death after that massive, destructive kitchen fire.

One of my golfing friends was with the Army welcoming group who welcomed Hillary Clinton to Sarajevo during the Bosnia Deployments. There was firing of weapons in the area during the time she was there.
