This is the Deputy National Security Advisor to the President of the United States. His answer here shows that the United States and Europe are not really invested in stopping Vladimir Putin. Daleep Singh says we will do nothing to stop Russia from exporting its energy products.
As I have said all week, Putin sized up the west appropriately. We took the advice of a Swedish teen on the spectrum who is convinced the world is going to end and we outsourced our energy national security to Russia.
The United States could be energy independent. We could be providing oil and gas to Europe. But we all gave up and relied on Russia instead.
Additionally, Biden is shifting his rhetoric about sanctions. Last week, National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan, Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, White House Press Secretary Jenn Psaki, and Vice President Harris all said the Biden Administration’s sanctions were designed to deter Russian aggression in Ukraine. Yesterday, Joe Biden contradicted all of them and said his sanctions were never meant to do that. Which is it?
On top of that, the Biden Administration is scared to give Ukraine arms because Russia might get mad at us. Administration officials actually worry that giving arms to Ukraine could escalate the situation. I’d say it already is.
If we do not stand up for Ukraine and help them, Russia will not stop there. If Kyiv falls, we should turn Ukraine into Russia’s second Afghanistan.
This will be an appalling legacy for Joe Biden. The leader of the free world has turned is back on freedom, much like Barack Obama did to the Iranian protestors. The United States needs to stand up for Ukraine. Our sanctions are not significant or painful enough. Allowing Russian energy exports to proceed is surrendering to Putin.
Shame on the western nations. Shame on us.
One More Thing…
It is important for you to understand there is a disinformation campaign being waged by Vladimir Putin that many American isolations are falling for.
If you hear someone blame NATO and its possible expansion into Ukraine for this war, you are falling for a talking point that is not true. Putin has coveted Ukraine for a long time. NATO expansion had been considered but was not even on the horizon for discussion at this time. It is simply not true to say this has anything to do with NATO.
Putin has actually railed on NATO for years independent of Ukraine. What is going on is Putin wants a Russian sphere of influence and expects Ukraine to be part of it, given Russia’s history.
Whatever will Greta do when she discovers that Sweden has requested membership in NATO, along with Finland? The poor child will probably need a large coloring book, a few hundred crayons, and a pack of emotional support dogs to be able to withstand the psychic strain.
That Greta Thunberg has been a willing tool of the environmental Marxists - and of all Marxists in general - is her problem, and is of no concern to rational, thinking people everywhere. That she continues ti inveigh against the supposed evils of 21st Century society using the very technology she so decries is beyond merely ironic, and I'll leave it to you to describe it. She should try just once living her stated beliefs and reduce her activities to passing out handbills on Stockholm street corners; that way, her beliefs would reach the proper audience, and those of us who live in the real word can get on with developing real world solutions to the problems of the age.
NATO/Ukraine isn't the only disinformation. The whole global warming panic is a better example - like all good yarns there is an element of truth to it
