His lecturing to our allies like Ukraine and Israel who are fighting for survival and his trying to sell us on a surrender to Iran shows that to him, America First means kicking out allies to the curb and letting our enemies run the world while we troll the libs here at home. In the end, the post-liberal Right wants us to be more like Europe than America just like the post-liberal Left does. They ignore that the European social democratic model leads to stagnation and managed decline and that will be what it will lead to here as well.

At this point in time, my only educated guess is that there actually is some major schism in the Iranian leadership between the IRGC and the elected officials doing the negotiation. Also, the Ayatollah still has not been seen in public. So who knows what's going on with the internal politics should he either be dead or (gasp) is agreeable to our demands to stand down on the nuclear issues and inspections.
