Chris Christie doesn't believe Trump is a threat to our democracy either.

I'd like to see Erick's opinion on a No Labels candidate. Is that viable? Are they trying to win or just to make sure Trump doesn't? Comments on possible No Labels candidates. What if someone like a Nikki Haley decided to run on a No Labels ticket? Lots of other questions in that regard.

Excellent points Erick!

I keep thinking of a quote from the cowboy philosopher Will Rogers. “The only good thing about the present crop of candidates is that only one can be elected”.

There is no way in my mind that Trump wins. The Left is setting him and the Republicans up just like they did in 2016. But then they were convinced that they could win against him and were caught totally off guard. If I remember correctly, some reports that came out after that election said that even Trump didn’t think he was going to win.

The Left won’t be caught off guard this time. The changes to the election laws due to COVID gives them an immense advantage particularly with mail-in ballots which are tailor made for low information voters. The Left and the media (but I repeat myself) will go even more full bore against him. If Biden is still the nominee, by September all the polls will be in his favor. If he’s not (and I’m betting on Whitmer being the Democrats’ nominee) she will be seen as a breath of fresh air to the corrupt, evil, dictator Trump.

Unless of course, the aliens invade. And then there will be no elections - because, you know, national security.😁

Much like Erick Erickson, Chris Christie believes that if he continues to bash Trump on a daily basis, their criticism will somehow become effective, when in fact Trump soaks it up like a sponge and becomes stronger with every bash. But try to convince either one of them ….

I have said a thousand times that all the bashing from the conservative side of the fence makes it more and more likely he will be the candidate.

I think we both know it goes far deeper than that …

I don't want Trump. I would rather have Halley or DeSantis, but it doesn't look like I'll get what I want. I will vote for Trump though because watching the heads on the left explode after all they've done to take him out will be fun. You Democrats who read the comments need to understand your propaganda masters in the press are the reason Trump will be the nominee and win. You can blame them because they propped him up all this time so they can benefit (they think) in ratings from him being in office. When he is elected and begins using the same tools and tactics the left used against him, I will not bat one eye or shed one tear. Nor will I listen to any "threats to democracy" BS. You had your chance to let the system produce a better result and you chose the path you've chosen. You made your electoral bed. Now, lie in it. Good luck.

THIS! ☝️(except for the Halley/Desantis part, I agree!)

All so very disheartening and it’s just if, if, if, if, if right now. I’d rather read about something else and hoping that Almighty God has another plan besides Trump.

Of all the polarizing polarizers, Trump is the polarizingest (my take on A Charlie Brown Christmas). In seriousness, I understand his popularity: His presidential term was light years better than Biden, and that track record is a huge advantage; he "sticks it to the man" so to speak, with everyone from CNN to world leaders; and much of his political life has been one failed attempt after another to remove him from office/consideration, making him a William Wallace of the People. But one would think that in this day and age of risk aversion, voters would heavily consider the multiple charges against him, the resources that will be consumed defending himself, and the compelling polls indicating his nomination activates an otherwise dormant Democrat party. Winning this election is too important to risk Trump as the nominee IMO, yet it seems almost predisposed at this juncture. To paraphrase Jefferson, the government we elect is the government we deserve.

And I DID see Chapelle! Good stuff!

Trump will be the nominee because the press wants him because the Democrats told them to help him. The Dems think he is the only one they have a chance to beat, and they are right, but they won't beat him. To all the "stolen election" people out there, can we get rid of that mantra once Trump wins re-election (for the record I don't think you are one of those)?

Expand full comment

No, I'm not a "stolen election" advocate, thank you for saying as much. And yes, I think you're right about the press wanting Trump as the nominee, but not just because they're in the Dems' back pocket. They return to the heyday of high ratings fueled by endless click-bait and outraged talking heads bloviating their Trump Derangement Syndrome. In my opinion, the press has much more of a vested interest in Trump being nominated than the Dems.

The ratings and traffic get a significant bump when they talk Trump. If I was them, I'd want Trump around for four more years just for the paycheck bump! Their Trump gravy train just dries up if he loses.

I don't think democrats will let him win. They do have plans, ways, and means to keep him from it.

Christie does not leave because he is as narcissistic as Trump is. Remember, Christie was an assistant U.S. Attorney. They are all about there own glory, rather than the glory or advancement of others.

Kind of like the departure of McCarthy? Clearly was there for the prestige and not exactly in representing the folks that voted him in.

As I have maintained consistently. If trump gets the nomination he will lose. Democrats are terrible administrators but they are great at politics and very sneaky.

They won’t let him win. And with plenty of help from the GOP never trumpers, it will equal a loss.

I don’t understand why people will roll the dice on Trump when they have a sure win with Desantis or Haley. Makes no sense.

As Erick said yesterday though. Put your faith in God. He’s got this.

Expand full comment

So, what happens when he does win? Is the system not really corrupt at that point? The reason Trump is going to have the nomination isn't because people want to roll the dice with him. He isn't an unknown quantity. The reason is the propagandistas in the press have propped him up. If he wins can we finally ignore all the stolen election rhetoric?

Expand full comment

If he wins fine. Whatever.

Just means there was so many people voting for him he overcame the corruption.

Won’t happen.

But it’s fine to believe in that.

LOL! I will love seeing you guys EAT your words when this happens. I believe there will be MANY great things happen in 2024, with Trump to set the stage for the next 4-8 years. I watch with great anticipation.

Would be right except for 2022. What’s that saying about doing the same thing and expecting a different result?

Trump didn’t win in 2018 2020 or 2022. Even though many said “the polls were favorable” “all signs say he will win”

If Trump is the nominee we lose it’s as simple as that. Trump should be killing Biden in the polls but he is not, why? People don’t care that it is the left that is killing our democracy, they just hate Trump that much. After Trump loses and this administration continues you will never see a republican in the White House again because Biden will give amnesty to all 15 million illegal aliens.

Expand full comment

Nope. The war drums are beating and Biden's lipstick military isn't the answer. Trump will win on that issue alone. If you've listened to Erick at all, those illegals you so greatly fear have a conservative work ethic. They are just trying to escape a repressive socialist regime. They don't want to recreate that here and they see which side supports those policies. No, they are not automagic democrat votes.

Are the majority of illegals thugs or those looking for a better life?

(Ps. We are paying for all of them right now)

I guess we will find out. But, I think that you underestimate the leftist political machine.

Agree with you wholeheartedly. And therein lies our biggest problem. People on this side always underestimate the leftist political machine.
