Erick, I have read your work for many years. I almost always agree with you and even when I don't I always respect your opinion and how you reached your position. I am so thankful you come from a Christ centered approach. Not enough people on either side of the aisle do....I pray for you and your family regularly because the challenges come from many different directions. Yet you stand your ground and are anchored in your faith. May God bless you and your family as you stand in the gap in a political arena that wants us to take an extreme viewpoint on the left or right. Hold your ground. You have many people supporting you because of the man, father, husband and friend that you are.
I’m a real fan of President Trump, none of us are perfect, and neither is he. I believe you’re being far too hard on him. What a God given gift he is to America.
My wife is an Emergency Room Nurse at our local hospital. My niece is an epidemiologist with the St. Louis Department of Health. Both of them tell me the reaction to this virus has been way overplayed in the media. You ask for an appeal to facts. Both of these health care professionals tell me this is hype. You tell me otherwise. Who, Sir, am I to believe?
The facts are that NO ONE has the "facts" because the Chinese won't be truthful and other countries don't have enough data yet to know what is going on. I prefer to believe in God and I will allow him to work in the world as he sees fit. Who knows, perhaps this is the long awaited, long overdue judgement on a evil world.
I would say the experts are not always right, but two anecdotes from two people who are not actually directly studying the disease, its progression, its effects, and its interactions in the wild are not actually experts in this. They're people with highly informed opinions, but opinions nonetheless.
Many, many excellent points here, will share. And apologies if this is inappropriate, but it might be a good time to donate nonperishable food to one's local Office for the Aging or Meals on Wheels. I'm haunted by stories from the Spanish flu era about people in quarantine going hungry because their neighbors refused to leave them meals. Don't know if the stories are true yet...but I can see it happening. A reaction driven by fear or the belief that others are on top of the situation. They might not be.

Eric, I don't always agree with you, but I appreciate your honesty and consistency and that is why I subscribed to your newsletter. Be well.
Thank you.

Donating food is actually a very good idea.
