If you get on Twitter and declare Health and Human Services Assistant Secretary Rachel Levine a man, Twitter will suspend your account. It’s not that you are wrong. Levine is a biological man. But Levine now insists he is a woman. Twitter, being a post-modernist project, has chosen to put feelings over truth and therefore will suspend you for telling the truth.
Numerous people get suspended for this. I got suspended a while back for pointing out Laurel Hubbard is biologically a man. That was a true statement. Biologically, Hubbard, like Levine, is a man. Twitter forced me to delete the tweet to keep my account.
Now, Congressman Jim Banks has been suspended for a tweet related to Levine. My friend Brian Mattson, a theologian in Montana, had the same thing happen. In fact and somewhat ironically, Twitter now is emboldening conservative politicians to speak the truth and get banned to show their commitment to truth. It becomes, over time, performance art where politicians show their bona fides by their willingness to be suspended from Twitter by preaching truth.
If it gets more people willing to speak up against the tyranny of the transgender mob, that is a good thing.
It has to be pointed out though that Twitter is not really globally committed to the tyranny of the transgender mob. Twitter is just committed to tyranny. Twitter will let a man in Pakistan call Rachel Levine a man. But if the man in Pakistan slanders his government, Twitter will act.
Twitter sides with tyranny and censors Americans on behalf of one bullying community while censoring millions more in other countries who have tyrants and despots for governments. Twitter fills the void as an outsourced digital censor.
When Jack Dorsey started Twitter, he wanted it to be a place for unfettered free speech. Now, in the United States, Twitter has become the moral enforcer of a tyrannical ideology that can’t let Americans speak basic biological truths. Concurrently, Twitter has handed itself over to the Taliban, the Iranian mullahs, the Chinese propagandists, and others.
Americans’ free speech must be dragged down while regimes with no free speech get Twitter to adhere to their standards. The twenty-first century is seeing corporations do the bidding of countries in ways they have not for a long time. Twitter is at the forefront willing to censor for tyrannical ideologies, not just nation-states. Conservatives need to start figuring out how American governmental institutions can be used to combat its own American companies siding with tyrants.
We are constantly commanded to bow down to the statue of Nebuchadnezzar (or Covid, CRT, climate change, etc). Refusing to bow doesn’t get you tossed into a fiery furness but just ostracized and fired. Those refusing the jab are as brave as Daniel’s friends. Support them. (PS, I got the jab, my choice).
What you're talking about is now beyond postmodernism...at least in postmodernism, we could "agree to disagree" regarding a person's version of truth. Now, the focus is no longer on truth, but on power...which you mention when you talk about tyranny. I call this "supramodernism". Interesting times.
