This is an excellent writing! I have been blest by your Holy Week devotional pieces yesterday and today and look forward to the remainder of the week. God is so patient with us His children just as He was with His chosen people. But that holds true for us today!

This passage really demonstrates the character of God. God allows us to make choices and decisions for our lives. When we are committed to following Him in relationship, he gently guides us in the direction he knows we should go. He did this with Elijah, who suffered from depression, and didn't lose patience with him. As people begin to "do what's right in their own eyes" He's still patient because his greatest desire is for us to be in relationship with him, not to be perfect.

This may be your best writing, yet. Poignant, accurate, and a beautiful picture of Who God is and how he longs to be with us, if we will but invite Him into our hearts.

Yes! It always was Immanuel, God with us. We err when we try to impress God, don’t we? It is ours to listen and follow. Oh what a Savior, isn’t he wonderful?

I mean, the plan was Immanuel. The Old Testament saints with their faith in God were still separated from real fellowship with God, weren’t they? Don’t touch the mountain, don’t enter the curtain.

But now, through the blood of Christ we have been brought near. He tore those barriers down. Praise Him!
