It is harder and harder to trust the news media, which increasingly is not just picking sides with the left in the culture war, but also making bold claims. CNN, a network that insists we need to trust science, ran this bold claim in a news story, not an opinion piece.
“There is no consensus criteria for assigning sex at birth.”
The author of the piece is not far removed from college and undoubtedly believes this is a statement of fact, but it is no more a statement of fact than to claim Dominion Voter Systems machines used an algorithm to steal votes for Joe Biden.
A belief is not a fact. When CNN takes the position that we should believe the science behind COVID, more and more people will not believe the network if it makes statements so contrary to science that it employs a reporter who believes “there is no consensus criteria for assigning sex at birth.” (You know you want to click that link)
In a post-modern world, more and more people have decided to make what they believe and turn it into universal truth. As we approach Easter, I think Christians have to be as committed to truth as possible. I continue to believe it is going to be hard to tell people the truth of the gospel when we’re committed to confirmation bias and nonsense.
The world is full of nonsense. It is on display in the news article above. We need to gently push back and defend truth that we might defend the truth of the resurrection.
Follow the science? The science of reproduction also applies to humans, does it not? XX/XY still means something for all mammals--except humans? I suppose these people use purple at their gender reveal parties?
I hope you sent that Kindergarten Cop link to the person-who-identifies-as-a-reporters.
“There is no consensus criteria for assigning sex at birth.”
Except that there is. And the consensus among the majority of the world population is that you determine gender by looking at the body parts.
........oops, I forgot we’re not supposed to say facts out loud.
