Of all of the wild exit polling data, one stat in particular jumped out to me: More people voted for Donald Trump than Kamala Harris among those who believed that democracy was threatened.
Erick - I have to say on how in the world where Democrats go from the 2024 Presidential Election, since those talking heads like Gwen Waltz, the wife for MN Governor Waltz, VP Harris, and those on The View on ABC continue to fan the flames with the same words that they were pushing even after the vote count was in Donald J Trump's favor? Democrats are in full swing against each other right. Probably the best course of action on our side, is to start planning with the same determination that RNC Co-chair Laura Trump did for 2026. Those who casted vote for our side back during election month and on Election Day 2024 need to be win over again.
Before the election, about a month or two ago, a respected pollster (might have been Pew) asked people what their three biggest concerns for the election were. Some of them had "future of democracy" in their top three. Of those people, they then asked them who was the bigger threat to "future of democracy". About 55% said the GOP, but 45% said the Dems.
I kept mentioning this in the run-up to the election, that if the Dems keep running on J6 and "Convicted Felon" etc. it would backfire on them with a large part of the electorate.
One person's "Convicted Felon" is another person's "Lawfare".
And all of these federal charges getting summarily dropped is a very bad look for the Biden administration and the Dems. If there's meat on that bone, if they have the goods on Trump, they need to do their job and bring him in to court and see that justice is done. Make Trump do the dirty work after the inauguration if he wants to go firing people.
A lot of great points here and in the comments. Your confidence in exit polls is interesting, especially with the massive increases in absentee ballots and early voting. Both would seem to make accurate understanding of the electorate very difficult. The exit poll takers are also not going to get well thought out answers from folks who have stood in line for 45 minutes and need to either get back to work or home. How do they really obtain all of these answers from what needs to be very closely controlled (for their models) inputs. I’m skeptical but would really like to understand how it’s done.
We are going to get to see who’s right but I don’t believe in the swinging pendulum, not this time.
The dems have done terrible things. Lawfare, assassination attempts, etc.. if politics is cyclical. Before the republicans lose again we will either see a schism split in the dem party. 3rd party or they won’t see the White House for a generation or more.
How do the dems get past them shackling themselves to the immoral gay agenda. Answer is they won’t. They will double down.
Mid terms will be much the same. Dems think they will do well and it ends up being another republican wave. Sorry not sorry.
I don't really care if the left learns a lesson from this election cycle. My hope is that the American people have learned the lessons about progressive policies.
For years I watched election cycle after election cycle, first in Iowa and then in Virginia, as the Democrats held back the most Democratic precincts in the state until the last minute, and then submitted just enough Democrat votes to flip a close election. After a while I started to say, "in any close election, count on Democrats to try to cheat their way to victory." There's no doubt in my mind that they're cheating in Arizona, and especially in Nevada where the unions are strong. Decade after decade those Nevada union thugs sent that lying piece of garbage Harry Reid back to the Senate to impose as much government on us as possible. Does anyone doubt for a second that they cheated to reelect Rosen? Did anyone notice how Brown was leading and the Democrats dragged their feet on counting the votes for two days and then suddenly flipped the vote to Rosen?
Very true and sad. I lost a close friend of over 50 years because of the election. He told me that as a Christian I shouldn't vote for Trump. When I explained to him (and he is not a Christian but a very angry atheist) that I couldn't vote for a Democrat because of their policies, he cut off communication with me. I attempted to email, write snail mail and call him - to no avail. I pray for him and wife everyday.
There's nothing Christian about Donald "I've never asked God for forgiveness" Trump. There's no reason, on the other hand, for your friend who doesn't even believe in God to care. In fact your friend, if he really cared about religion in politics, should applaud the tolerance of a Christian voting for an obviously non-Christian like Trump. Your friend either suffers from Trump Derangement Syndrome, and thinks Trump is evil, or simply wants as much leftist government control and woke social garbage as possible.
The Left continues to learn nothing and forget everything.
The 2000 election, and all the reactions to the results, demonstrated to me that there was a very serious political, social and cultural divide in this country. It became apparent that there were two "America's" living within the same set of borders, which shared a common language, and not a whole lot else.
The Left has put all their hope, faith and trust in their politics. As Erick pointed out, their politics is their religion. That's why it's so personal to them when they lose.
Conservatives? Sure, we don't like the results when we lose, but ultimately, we remember that God is in control. When we look around and see all the evil going on, when we feel overwhelmed and surrounded, it can be a really hard thing to accept sometimes.
Unfortunately, in order for this country to come back together, it's going to take a lot of humility on both sides. Sadly, I don't ever see that happening, because, generally speaking, the Left refuses to talk to us like normal human beings without derision, hatred or insults.
Fortunately they haven't learned anything except how to blame others. The voters are just plain stupid in their eyes. They don't know what's good for them. We tell them how to think, what they need! Don't they know that yet? The voters knew what they wanted. And they didn't want whatever Harris was trying to sell. Pelosi blaming Biden for not getting out sooner. The party blaming Harris for not clearly stating her positions. You name it. They'll blame it.
I hope the hate labels like bigot, racist, sexist, misogynist, etc. are starting to lose power. Ever since Obama, they have been somewhat effectively used against conservatives.
I’m sorry to say that I’m related to some of the people that you referred to. They have become bitter old women and absolutely nothing makes them happy and it’s everyone else’s fault. I’m glad that I’m a Christian and that my God sits on a throne in heaven and our pastor preaches on the Bible. You are so absolutely right. I don’t know if the leftist media really believes what they are saying or if it’s a ratings thing. But they need to look themselves in the mirror and do some real soul searching. God is my/our king not politics. And He is my Judge.

The progressive god is not dead! He (she?) may just be in the can. I Kings 18:27-28
Nothing new under the sun. Ecclesiastes 1:9
I'm sure the progressive god is probably not "she/her". It'll probably be a paragraph of pronouns to be inclusive.
And by the way, Trump won Hamilton County, Indiana 52-46. It may be going, but it's far from gone.
I saw some yard signs in my neighborhood at the homes of Trump supporters trumpeting the fact that he's a convicted felon.
This is a bit of a SITYS for me.

But I guess not...

Whoops! Trump wins in AZ and NV. Must have been a lot of cheating going on. ;)

Trump wins, Rosen wins. Explain.
Trump was too far ahead for the Democrats to flip him in NV, but were able to do some with trailing Brown.
SMH
We have secret ballots. How would they know how each group voted?
Exit polling.
Have you been polled? I’ve been voting since 1969 and no one has asked me .

It is the same for me and several friends. This type of thing happens with cults. Your friend is sick, IMO, and you are right to pray for his healing.
Maybe you should resign from the cult.

Of course they won’t !
Based on what I see and hear Democrats keep the blame game going. A simple statement could help if they are willing to look within. “WHATS MY PART”
Fortunately they haven't learned anything except how to blame others. The voters are just plain stupid in their eyes. They don't know what's good for them. We tell them how to think, what they need! Those labels have lost their power.
