Hate to say it but I’m with Megan Kelly here. Time for us to go after them. The gentlemen’s club is no longer on f any use. It is a big part of the problem. Time for some Republican AGs to go hard after Biden, Garland, Obama, Clinton and the rest. If NY can create a law bypassing the statute of limitations so E Jean crazy can go after Trump, we can punch back harder. Biden’s treasonous TX border policy to start. Hillary’s 33,000 emails. And if I remember correctly didn’t Obama kill some innocents with his drone game. Time to take off the gloves. We’re not winning because the old way doesn’t work anymore. Sorry GOP establishment. You totally screwed the pooch and as a result created the situation we’re now in.

Sorry, but I disagree. By nature, most true Conservative voters value traditional Judeo-Christian virtues like honor, integrity, Truth, justice, and accountability (which is one of the reason that Trump flipped Georgia from Red to Blue in the 2020 election. The Conservative Bible Belt voters couldn't, in good conscience, vote for him again; so they didn't show up). We are loathe to jump into The Swamp to drain it. What's the point in draining The Swamp if you're just going to get all mucked up by it, anyway? At the end of the day, we need to look at ourselves in mirror, and if we're as mucked-up as the Libs, what's the point of being Conservative?

We're not winning because we're living in a Post-Christian world.

In 2006, when Obama said the US is "no longer a Christian nation," he wasn't kidding. People who identify as Christian (63%) still outnumber the non-Christians, but Christianity ain't what it used to be: The Social Justice warriors have taken control of many female-affirming denominations and turned them from "Bible-believing" to "spiritual" (whatever that means). Jesus, to them, is not The Savior of Souls, but a homeless community activist who promoted social-welfare programs by feeding the 5,000, healing the sick free-of-charge, and flipping-off The Establishment.

And it's only going to get worse. People are straying farther and farther away from the "old-fashioned" values of previous generations. We're seeing the fulfillment of Romans 1 right before our very eyes:

"28 ... since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind to do what ought not to be done. 29 They were filled with all manner of unrighteousness, evil, covetousness, malice. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, maliciousness. They are gossips, 30 slanderers, haters of God, insolent, haughty, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, 31 foolish, faithless, heartless, ruthless. 32 Though they know God's righteous decree that those who practice such things deserve to die, they not only do them but give approval to those who practice them."

Vengeance isn't the answer. "An-eye-for-an-eye" just makes everyone blind.

The answer isn't to become like our lost, Hellbound opponents. It's to cling to the Good and the True -- and to remember that God is ultimately in control of who leads this country. He sends the rain on the godly and the ungodly; and He gives us the leaders we deserve. Pray that He sends us better...

Sorry. I seem to remember reading about Jesus flipping over a table in the temple to rid the place of jackals. Appreciate your Christian world view. As a product of 16 years of Catholic education, it’s time to flip the tables.

Expand full comment

Oh my goodness. Your Roman Catholicism is showing in your lack of understanding Scripture -- and I say that as a former Roman Catholic (who later studied seven years in two different seminaries). Jesus overturned the money-changers' tables because they were impeding the worship of the LORD, not merely by profiting, but grossly overcharging to change the out-of-town visitors' currency into Jewish currency, which was required by the temple authorities, not by Scripture. The profiteers were making it more difficult for the poor to worship the LORD, which is why Jesus drove them out. It was the beginning of breaking down the barriers between man and God, which was fulfilled when the temple veil was torn after Jesus breathed his last breath.

As for government: Paul writes in Romans 13:1, 2: "Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and THOSE THAT EXIST HAVE BEEN INSTITUTED BY GOD. 2 Therefore whoever resists the authorities resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment." This was written by a man who would be imprisoned and executed by the Roman emperor, Nero, who was one of the most murderous and vicious persecutors of Christians.

Paul goes on to write, "For rulers are not a terror to good conduct, but to bad. Would you have no fear of the one who is in authority? Then do what is good, and you will receive his approval, 4 for he is God's servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword in vain. For he is the servant of God, an avenger who carries out God's wrath on the wrongdoer. 5 Therefore one must be in subjection, not only to avoid God's wrath but also for the sake of conscience." (Rom 13:3-5)

We, as Christians, stand at a crossroads: We can become like the wrongdoers and turn away from God's Word to slake our thirst for vengeance. Or we can continue to follow in the footsteps of our Lord, being the salt and light in the world, acting with a clean conscience, and using the methods given to us by the Founders to try to reestablish justice. Ultimately, as Paul wrote (above), the outcome of the next election is in God's hands. We will get the leader whom He deems is right for us at this moment in time.

If not for the pandemic and the resulting mass mail in balloting that 85% of OECD countries ban because of their experience of cheating that is almost impossible to prove and remedy without destroying trust in their election process, Trump would have likely won the 2020 election and the Senate would have stayed in GOP hands.

Then in 2022, if not for the Dodd decision that the Democrats successful farmed for female rage, we would have seen a red wave with the Senate migrating back to GOP control.

Basically because of fecklessness in the GOP to combat the pandemic balloting shenanigans and to counter the Handmaiden's Tale life at conception extremists in the GOP party, the Democrats had fortuitous success in 2020 and 2022.

Not only did this result in societal chaos from a radical left shift of the Democrats, but it gave the Democrats the false sense that they were good, loved, justified and righteous. They all mistakenly walk on the rarified air of feeling that they are They Elect.

Now they are dangerous in desperation to retain those feelings... and even more dangerous should they lose in 2024.

The GOP should have rallied behind Trump and the Trump agenda in 2020. But the fragile egos of those old GOP establishment types from mean Tweets caused them to vote for Joe Biden and other Democrats.

It is THOSE voters that caused the mess we are experiencing today. Hopefully they won't make the same mistakes in the 2024 election, but the challenges to fix with they broke in 2020 and 2022 are going to be epic.

The Senate would have remained under Republican control if 430,000 Republicans in Georgia had bothered to show up in January 2021 to vote in the two Senate run-off elections. Because they did not vote, Georgia now has two Democratic senators. When we had a chance to replace Senator Warnock in the 2022 election, Republicans nominated Herschel Walker, an extremely weak and flawed candidate, to run against Warnock. How pathetic much of the Georgia Republican Party is!

Interesting fact, I voted by absentee ballot for the runoff in Cobb county. I hand delivered my ballot to the ballot box outside the designated county building location. Fascinating how people adopt the most profound immorality in the absence of core cultural moral values, and claim they are righteous in their behavior.

I live in blue liberal land, and have family in Trump territory. The red Trump territory people are not perfect in their civility, but my decades of experience living in both land shapes my opinion that the blue territory people are the dark side of humanity. However, they believe they are the light and that the working class are Nazis.

Ironically it was the Nazis that behaved the same way against the Jews in 1930s Germany.

So thinking of what comes next harkens me back to an amazing man who the current dearth of sense has relentlessly sought to cancel. Robert E. Lee.

In a letter to his son came a quote that is emblazoned on a brass plaque on the wall in the sally port of every barracks at my alma mater (The Citadel). It speaks of duty. I looked it up to see what the whole context was. Wow, what eloquence that man had.

The quote was from a letter to his prodigal son. I've always loved and sought to live up to it, but the whole letter? Just wow.

You must study to be frank with the world. Frankness is the child of honesty and courage. Say just what you mean to do, on every occasion, and take it for granted that you mean to do right. If a friend asks a favor, you should grant it, if it is reasonable; if not, tell him plainly why you cannot; you would wrong him and wrong yourself by equivocation of any kind.

Never do a wrong thing to make a friend or keep one; the man who requires you to do so is dearly purchased at the sacrifice. Deal kindly but firmly with all your classmates; you will find it the policy which wears best. Above all, do not appear to others what you are not.

If you have any fault to find with any one, tell him, not others, of what you complain; there is no more dangerous experiment than that of undertaking to be one thing before a man's face and another behind his back.

We should live, act, and say nothing to the injury of any one. It is not only for the best as a matter of principle, but it is the path of peace and honor.

In regard to duty, let me, in conclusion of this hasty letter, inform you that nearly a hundred years ago there was a day of remarkable gloom and darkness -- still known as "the dark day" -- a day when the light of the sun was slowly extinguished, as if by an eclipse.

The Legislature of Connecticut was in session, and as its members saw the unexpected and unaccountable darkness coming on, they shared in general awe and terror. It was supposed by many that the last day -- the day of judgment -- had come. Some one, in the consternation of the hour, moved an adjournment.

Then there arose an old Puritan legislator, Davenport, of Stamford, and said that, if the last day had come, he desired to be found at his place doing his duty, and therefore moved that candles be brought in, so that the House could proceed with its duty.

There was quietness in that man's mind, the quietness of heavenly wisdom and inflexible willingness to obey present duty. Duty, then, is the sublimest word in our language. Do your duty in all things like the old Puritan. You cannot do more; you should never wish to do less. Never let your mother or me wear one gray hair for any lack of duty on your part.

Wow, what a setting of expectation from father to son. Such a high bar to live up too. At least to aspire to. Would that only our current "expert" class would do their duty to us all and we would all act that way toward each other.

Erick, I tend to be wordy, so sorry ahead of time...

This is a very dangerous time for our republic. We stamp "In God We Trust" on our money. We say "One Nation Under God": in our pledge. We say "So Help Us God" in our oaths, and :we sing :God Bless America" in our songs, and most presidents say "God Bless America" at the end of our speeches.

But we all, left and right have turned often from that which is the foundation of our republic. " We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are CREATED equal, that they are endowed, by their CREATOR with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness."

Unless we turn back, and hold fast to the truth in the declaration. That all law, all truth, all rights flow from that creator then our republic will fall.

What the Democrats have done is burn the very barriers that prevent Satan's release upon our culture.

Their fear of Trump is greater than their fear of God, whom many no longer believe in, and their equating Trump with Satan, not realizing the mighty cost they are paying by doing such.

We who are conservative must cling first to God. As we fight against what the Democrats ( and many Republicans) are doing.

Let us not equate Mr. Trump with either Satan or with Jesus Christ.

I pray for Mr. Trump, who needs to hear the Gospel, that his "being a good president:" does not earn him heaven. Jesus Christ paid the price for heaven.

He needs to hear and heed the call for repentance, as we all must. It would be better for him to admit his sins and cling to Christ, than claim his innocence in order to appear to be the victim.

What a different world it would be, if he said " yes, I have done much for which I must ask forgiveness for."

This case which you have brought is dishonest. I have not broken any law,

But have I lusted after many women...you know I have...I have had numerous wives..and many others. If I was standing for those sins, I would freely admit my guilt,

Some of you may be happy with that admission.

But I still stand before you as one called to run for the presidency, not as a pure fully righteous man, but as a man reclaimed by the grace of Christ. I freely admit my moral failings.

Yet, I am called to stand against the evil that is flowing from this current administration. And that is why I am running. I am running to serve you the people who deserve righteous laws and righteous application of those laws. I am running knowing I will give an account, not to just you the people but to God, who has given me this op[portunity to lead. I am like Solomon when young who admitted he did not have the knowledge or the strength to lead and judge such a mighty people. And the Lord gave him wisdom to lead.

I am willing to lead if you know that I am just a man, living under the responsibility given by God. "

If Mr Trump would speak such words and then live them, well I believe he would win by such a vote as to take our breath away.,

And there would be so many other obvious changes.

The name calling would end, as would the sarcasm. You would even hear him say, "I pray for Joe BIden, because I am told to pray for the current leaders. I oppose what he does, and I will call him out for that which is wrong. But I know, he too will give an account, and the one who will judge us both, sees the truth of all things. "

So let us pray for Mr, Trump. That a change deeper and more meaningful than any conviction for a fake crime would bring. Perhaps an awakening as to what is really at stake.

For what does it benefit a man, to win the whole world, but forfeit his soul.

What does it benefit a nation, to win the whole world, and yet forfeit it's soul,

The battle we are in is for the soul of the nation. May we not be ashamed when we give our account.

Thank you Erick for so often pointing out what should be obvious to us. I pray the platform you have been given will be used to bring many, maybe even Mr. Trump, to the truth. My God give us a leader better than what we deserve. Charles

Charles

I am praying for a silver lining Phoenix to arise out of the ashes of this abomination against the rule of law. Like the aftermath of Harry Reid nuking the judicial filibuster, this too will (hopefully) be an albatross around the neck of grifting and corrupt politicians allowed to slide with people holding their noses. They have all been allowed to slide by the norms of not prosecuting these transgressions.

I dream of the day where I see Nancy Pelosi and her husband in the dock for insider trading. I'm sure they should be joined by a legion of other politicians on both sides. Joe and Hunter can be similarly held to account for the peddling of influence against the interests of the American people.

The danger is what happens if this lands in the lap of the Matt Gaetz's, MTG's, AOC's, and others of their ilk who only seek revenge on their enemies. Then we would be in for a storm of hell akin to the legion of executive orders of one side being reversed and expanded when the opposing side returns.

We can only hope that there are legislators who will step up as a result of this to do their damn job and stop performing for the camera to fundraise. Maybe something good will come out of this debacle.

Maybe, but I doubt it. This would require people with honor to be at the front. Simple code that people do not lie, cheat, steal, nor tolerate those who do.

Trump, Biden and most politicians don't appear to God's model of a Christian, but they are the leaders that God has placed us under for the moment.

I would instruct them to investigate major donors to their campaigns, etc. forcing them to spend billions of dollars defending themselves, fast-tracking these cases. I would also target judges and their offices who interfere with this proper investigation. I would selectively investigate Republicans as well. Toward the end of my 4 years in office, probably in January or February before the election of the next president, I would announce a presidential pardon for all of the cases that were politically driven under the condition that those involved publicly admit their guilt in a manner that can be used for political advertising. At this time I would also put procedures in place to hog-tie the next administration, Republican or Democrat, so that this cannot happen again without great cost to that administration.
