I have seen some compelling article that would argue that Jesus was born in the fall, around the time of the Jewish New Year. Either way, regardless of the actual date He arrived is not important, the fact He did, and why He did is really what matters
Erick what evidence do we have that Christ was born in Bethlehem and of the improbable census requiring everyone to return to their hometowns? No record of this anywhere + Quinirus was not governor of Syria during this time. Thx
Thank you so much...I've heard you give this lesson before on the radio, but now I have it in writing, so my husband can read it, and maybe, if you don't mind, incorporate it into a Bible study for our class this year.
He's recently been asked to take over our Bible study class due to several people in our little church being unable to teach any longer for various reasons, and he's struggling to find subjects for the lessons. I'll make sure he gives you credit!
You are very correct that there is too much false narrative about Christian celebrations co-opting pagan holidays! To me, doing so would be like worshipping idols. Our holidays are only tied to our brothers' the Israelites Biblical feasts and celebrations!
As always, your insights are so very deeply appreciated my friend! It is so easy to believe what the world says about us; but It brings so much hope to be reminded that our faith is founded not just on belief, but often belief in empirical evidence. Praying that in the midst of this busy season, With all of the demands that are placed on you both internally and externally, that you will have the opportunity to slow down and prepare your heart to celebrate the coming of our Savior! Thank you Erick for being light in the darkness, and a humble example of what it means to be a believer and a follower of Jesus!
He Is, the most important point of this post.

Thanks Erick--interesting! And, you are right--He is.

"...what's important is that He is."
The last line is the most important.
Thank you
