That’s why I love you because somebody has to tell the Dam Truth RFK is a left winger from Hell what Trump sees in him only God and him know . But glad to have you back Brother
RFK was nominated because we have a health care system that doesn't care about our food and a food processing system that doesn't care about our health. If he fixes that, he's doing God's work. The Trump administration will not promote abortion. It's likely thatTrump will reinstate the so-called Mexico City policy that prohibits US funding of UN and NGO abortion efforts. If he doesn't, then pro-lifers will have cause to raise their voices in protest.
RFK and those like him are exactly why I never wanted Trump to be the face of the Republican party, even back in 2016. Yes, I've voted for him twice now. The alternatives in each election were just too dangerous. But, as will always be the case with Trump, you're not getting a Christian conservative (imho). You're getting an immoral, but very popular man who knows exactly how, and who, to stroke to get their votes. He's actually done some very good things, but you can forget about principled conservatism being the driving force behind those "good things". "We're gonna win until we're sick of winning", principles be damned. Consider yourself (and myself) stroked. And we even had the chance to elect Ron DeSantis. Crap.
Desantis was my first choice. And I have never considered Trump to be conservative. It just so happen that many conservative ideas are actually productive and successful when in action that he embraces those. He has never been, in my opinion, socially conservative. Yet he advanced more conservative plans than the "Christian conservatives" we elected over and over who never even tried to deliver because most of them were just as self serving as any democrat. And that is how we got Trump.
RFK's focus is health, not abortion. I share your pro life sentiments and did not vote for Trump due to his wavering support of the pro life cause. That said, RFK has not been tapped to tackle abortion. He has been tapped to focus on why Americans are obese and diabetic while our healthcare system warns us about wearing paper masks and cries about systemic racism.
We aren't obese because Americans aren't getting 10,000 steps a day. It's because our food is uniquely tailored by scientists to make it both delicious and unfulfilling so we eat more and more and more. It's time for the behemoth of the American healthcare regulatory apparatus to focus on helping Americans rather than the industries they theoretically regulate. Don't try to tell us that there are pro life alternatives to RFK. If there were, why haven't they done anything so far?
You (Erick) are always advocating for us to be kind to our neighbor so that even if we disagree radically, they still ask us to watch their dog while on vacation. Surely you can ignore RFK's abortion preferences in the name of giving him the chance to focus on health. Surely you can trust Susie Wiles to keep RFK accountable for the task he has been given.
I will stand by you when he starts talking about abortion, but to focus on that during the confirmation process is a straw man position at best.
Funny the thing you said about food designed to be delicious and unfulfilling. Now I don't find it to be all that delicious, but I have told people the reason I won't eat fast food and commercially prepared food is that on the occasions I have eaten it, I feel full, but also feel like I am starving.
And here we see why Trump will inevitably fail, despite his best efforts. Republicans will eat their young and remain divided, while spiting their inside opponents at every opportunity. So sad.
I’m pretty anti RFK for this specific reason. But my parents who are both very pro life (in their 80s) say he won’t have control over abortion law and we need reform in our health system. I’m with you though.
On Judgement Day, you will be before God for Judgement. Time and space are immaterial to him so he can take forever to remind you of your sins and short comings. Will this be one of them?
When you declare someone morally unfit to be in a position, do you have a better alternative? We can pray that the people Trump appoints will have a Road To Damascus moment.
Why, yes, as a graduate of North Georgia College, I can think of multiple people off the top of my head who have distinguished themselves in service to the United States, over many years, who have NOT called for the “termination” of the United States Constitution and who know what “leadership” is.
I heard your interview yesterday morning on the morning. Show on WSB radio. Please dial a little bit further into what you think of Jimmy Carter thanks, Jack JACKSON.
Ah yes, but the higher purpose for pro-lifers must be to honor the life, choices, whims and even moods of one Donald J. Trump, certainly not life in the womb made in the image of our Lord. How dare we disturb The Donald's "FULL SLATE OF NOMINEES," no matter what they stand for. He (little "he") can't be made upset by challenge or, Heaven forbid, correction, even when He (the one and only big HE) is watching what we do.
Wait. Erick, I thought you were an insider. I thought you knew republicans of every stripe in Washington DC. How is it you are surprised the GOP has no spine? This is the most shocking thing I've read today. Not that the GOP in DC right now won't oppose RFK Jr, but that you are shocked enough to write something this long about it.
That's all sarcasm of course.
You've been warning and lamenting who RFK Jr. is for some time. I applaud you for vocally calling out our side for putting someone like this up for a serious position. There needs to be an adult in the room in DC who stands up and forces the children to stop acting like.....well....children. It is leadership moments like this where people set themselves apart and take up the mantel of someone people can rally around. I wonder if we'll get such a person this time out or if the GOP will revert to type, confirm him, and then try to act surprised when the scorpion once again stings the frog? Yes, that was a rhetorical question. God bless, Erick. Have a great day.
Thank you for speaking truth, especially when it disagrees with current Republicans. Kennedy doesn’t have the skills to constructively revamp HHS, or any large organization. His stance on abortion is unacceptable. There are other people who are more qualified, and don’t have baggage. If we can find those like Jay Bhattacharya for NIH, we can find similar for HHS. I just wish Christians would stop making Kennedy into this wonderful person that he isn’t .
That’s why I love you because somebody has to tell the Dam Truth RFK is a left winger from Hell what Trump sees in him only God and him know . But glad to have you back Brother

It doesn’t matter one bit whether Republicans control House or Senate. They’re too divided amongst themselves to stand up for any conservative value.

What happened to MAGA having a backbone?
Oh, wait, sorry I forgot. Not when it disputes dear leader.
And here we see why Trump will inevitably fail, despite his best efforts. Republicans will eat their young and remain divided, while spiting their inside opponents at every opportunity. So sad.
Erick does claim he's critical of Conservarives (or anyone on the Right), not just the Left.
Well, here's an excruciatingly direct and poignant example...😂
What is a, “Conservarive?”
In the "old days" someone who was fiscally and socially responsible, pro family and believed in strong national defense. That's the core..
Yes, and someone who believes in a limited federal government.
As my old biz partner from Yonkers always said.
"From your lips to God's ears!", Miss Meg.
People of faith get up in the morning and ask God what He would have them do to bring glory to his name on that day.
There are others who get up in the morning and pray that God will help them in the next election
cycle, and that God will silence those who would use on-demand-abortion as a campaign issue.
I think about that.
I’m pretty anti RFK for this specific reason. But my parents who are both very pro life (in their 80s) say he won’t have control over abortion law and we need reform in our health system. I’m with you though.
I agree with your parents. RFK is not going to have the control to do anything on a national level about abortion.
There are better alternatives. I’d rather choose wisely to start with, than pray for change afterwards.
Any transition team for an incoming administration can draw up a list, and use their contacts to find qualified candidates. For example, off hand:
First, conservative philosophy across the board, including pro-life.
Second, no personal or professional baggage.
Third, knowledge of subject matter.
Fourth, skill set to change an established large organization.
Remember that Trump is nominating Kennedy for this job as a payback for agreeing to support Trump in the 2024 election.
Agree Judy, there are people who can reform H/C without the terrible baggage which comes with Kennedy. He's not a good man.
Why, yes, as a graduate of North Georgia College, I can think of multiple people off the top of my head who have distinguished themselves in service to the United States, over many years, who have NOT called for the “termination” of the United States Constitution and who know what “leadership” is.

Kennedy is a fruit loop but if he can ban pharma ads on TV and lawyer billboards I'll support him for emperor..
