Don’t forget, from 11am to 2pm Central Time today, you can listen to me live on KTBB in Tyler, TX. Go here to listen.
Additionally, I just want to note that it is because so many of you subscribe to this newsletter that I can feel free to write about the topic I’m writing about below. Cancel culture is real even into conservative talk radio where increasingly talking about these sorts of issues is frowned upon. Your subscription helps me worry less about advertiser boycotts and syndication pressures to avoid explicitly socially, culturally, and theologically conservative topics.
The NCAA has decided it will not send an NCAA tournament to any state that prohibits boys from playing on girls’ athletic teams. According to their statement,
The NCAA Board of Governors firmly and unequivocally supports the opportunity for transgender student-athletes to compete in college sports. This commitment is grounded in our values of inclusion and fair competition.
Notice what we are quibbling with over here. No one objects to transgender athletes playing college sports. People just think they need to play with others of their same sex, not those whose gender they identify with if it deviates from their biological sex.
The anti-vaccine proponents have scores of doctors willing to say vaccines cause autism and other ailments. The transgender crowd now has doctors willing to say that, in the case of boys who identify as girls, their testosterone really is not an issue.
The science, on both counts, disagrees with the fringe, but the mainstream media and left elevate the fringe doctors of the transgender crowd and demand we treat them seriously. Real-world experience of boys playing as girls on the field overwhelmingly shows they tend to have more physical prowess.
Ultimately, conservatives will have to decide if they are willing to give up money in favor of not just God, but biology, science, and sanity.
Asa Hutchinson, the Governor of Arkansas, chose Mammon. If you watch him closely, you’ll see a Walmart lobbyist with his hand so far up Hutchinson’s rectum as to muppet him into whatever Walmart wants. The Arkansas legislature was not bought off, but perhaps the temptation will ultimately be too strong.
In Georgia, Republicans have for years sold out their Christian values and conservative voters on behalf of Hollywood, Chambers of Commerce, the NCAA, etc. What did it get them? When they voted an election reform bill, the same crowd came for them. Give Mammon an inch and Mammon takes a mile.
Texas is seeing this too at the leadership level where state officials talk a good game, but would prefer not to stand up for conservatives. Kristi Noem in South Dakota sold out conservatives for Mammon as well.
In Genesis 1, Moses uses a very particular word for God’s creation — Bara. It is a specific word for creation that applies only to God. When men create, the word does not apply to them. Bara is a divine creation. Scripture tells us that God himself creates us male and female in a way only God can. We are creation, not Creator. We cannot refashion ourselves into males and females as we choose.
Paul, in Romans 1, writes that God is woven into all of creation. We see in creation too that with very limited exceptions, species are defined by fixed biological sex. The world would have us focus on the exceptions as if they are the rule — a group of people who assume we are just another species suddenly chooses to highlight exceptions to defend their insanity.
The secular world would tell us that it is all well and good for us to believe these things, but we cannot impose them on others. Except we have never sought to impose the natural world on others. It is natural. It is the left that is seeking to impose a new, bat crap crazy world on us — one where they scream they are pro-science while rejecting biology.
Corporate America is in on it as well. Academia is in on it as well. Conservatives are going to have to decide if money is more important than truth. A lot will give up the fight. Some will be forced to. Some will be punished for speaking the truth. Everyone will be made to care.
Ultimately, we must remember that as we see the cultural secular elite thrive and try to force their insanity deviating from nature on others and silence those who dissent that this is the way it is supposed to be even as we cannot bow to it and should not yield to it. God designs, as an act of mercy, that the cultural decadence of secularism thrive here. It is the best they will ever have it and the worst, for all eternity, the believer will have it. Judah remains poor as the pagan Northern Kingdom thrived.
We should not bow to these cultural forces. We should not yield to them. We should constantly speak the truth to the other side tempered with love. But we should also understand we are passing through to a better world where the twisted ways of this world will be made straight and cleansed by God.
In the meantime, we will all be made to care.
Few people clearly conclude this as you have. Too many Christians desire comfort both now & in eternity. I’m no fan of pain or discomfort. Yet the sooner we realize the Lord will allow culture to thrive in this brief “now” the better our focus & desire will be for the not yet! Very very nice Erick!
Isaiah 5:
20 Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!"
24 Therefore as the fire devoureth the stubble, and the flame consumeth the chaff, so their root shall be as rottenness, and their blossom shall go up as dust: because they have cast away the law of the Lord of hosts, and despised the word of the Holy One of Israel.
25 Therefore is the anger of the Lord kindled against his people, and he hath stretched forth his hand against them, and hath smitten them: and the hills did tremble, and their carcases were torn in the midst of the streets. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.
Things are not going to end well for Woke-o-haram.
