Today is the anniversary of the most important event in human history, except for Christians.
Christians think Christ’s resurrection is the most important event in human history. But even atheists recognize killing a carpenter in Jerusalem around two thousand years ago was the most important event in human history. It fundamentally changed the world, even outside western civilization. But there’s more to it than that. As we head into the political season, there’s a more important message — you won.
Because Christ conquered the grave, the plan for redemption is set in place. The gates of hell will not prevail against it. I’m not saying to stay home in November, but I am saying that whether you go vote or stay home, you will not disrupt God’s plan for you, this country, and this planet. God’s got this. Nothing we can do can alter the course of the plan so if you believe, you are on the winning team. But, that comes with an obligation on your part. Since you’ve already won, you need to act like a humble winner and love your neighbor as yourself even if they don’t love you back.
Just take a few minutes and meditate with me on what this all means. You can listen to my Good Friday show live here, but watch this:
I will say that both his death and resurrection are vital to humanity. If he did not die we do not have a satisfactory payment for sin. If he were not raised from the dead we do not have eternal life! So both are very crucial to our relationship with God. His plan is perfect!
Truth to stand on. Thank you. A very blessed Easter to you and your family.
