Let's all call this what it in fact is, namely the Afghan Hostage Crisis, Day 12. There is absolutely no way that we can possibly get all Americans out of Afghanistan before Tuesday. The Bidenauts are talking about offering unspecified humanitarian and economic aid to Kabul if we can just please get our people out. Some call that offering incentives to the Taliban; I call it the first ransom negotiations.
Just before I opened this email I saw an article with the headline stating that there are 1500 Americans left to evacuate, per the Sec. of State. That would be Anthony Blinken. I wonder if it is really true.
I really believe the beltway crowd and maybe 25-30% of Americans believe the garbage these outlets peddle. We need to accelerate the media’s day of reckoning. Sadly, this crisis may be just the accelerant required…
As you have stated over and again Erick, how can we expect Americans to remain informed and relatively balanced in their lives and decisions when every single thing we read in the media must first be doubted due to the overwhelming bias and malpractice they proffer? This culture is doing everything they can to eradicate truth and to attempt to conform reality to their words and their definition of them.
What is the point of having a free press. I understand the principle of a free press and how great it would be if it was a patriotic free press. We learned about that in the 7th and 8th grade. It seems as the 4th estate has become a 5th column. Dan
Erik - someone needs to do an audit of all these folks that have supposedly been evacuated. I’ve had phone calls with sources who are in the ground at the airport. They strongly dispute these numbers. Is Biden using the “Royal We” and included in the numbers people evacuated from neighboring countries in this? Are we double counting - people we got out of Kabul to Qatar or UAE and then flown out again to the US? The numbers don’t make sense.
I cannot believe you are defending these two. It was clearly a stunt. It's akin to a President showing up in town that's evacuating prior to a hurricane strike to observe how things are progressing.

If it were a stunt, then where is their big press conference? If it were a stunt, why is the Democrat participating?

They did a job that needed doing, personally looking at the situation and telling the truth. Something that the administration is clearly not doing.
Except they didn't announce it, didn't take cameras, and didn't tell anyone until they got home.
AND they rode in crew seats so as not to take the seats of evacuees.
