Let’s be honest here

I wrote yesterday that Fox has already begun the leg humping of the former president. In a quest for ratings they will have to maneuver between Trump and law suits from election vendors who will bleed every profit from Fox. Trump will blame everyone but himself and if Fox provides cover for him they may soon be bankrupt.

Fox News has already started kissing his ring (insert any other body part if it is pertinent). If you don’t like Trump then you are a Trump hater and must be mocked. The talking heads (which are scared to lose their ratings) are all swooning over him again. I voted for Trump twice and after all the lies for the past 3 years I will never again. Not much into watching Fox much now either. I can hear a lot of I told you so in November.

RINO Trump vs Babbles Biden- geezh! (I still don't believe Biden makes it past the convention but what do I know- I thought Haley would blow past Trump in NH...) Agreed that Trump should be on the border now & pointing out when the fence starts coming down. "I promised a wall- and Sleepy Joe is cutting down the fence!"

Great to know! Hope there are millions more like you! 😊👍

Sound advice about the border, Erick!

Aaaah the Border.

Absolutely. Great advice, Erick. Now pick up the phone and pass it to the Trump organization.

Trump should connect with Moms for Liberty. Have the moms attend a school board meeting, record it and have Trump wait outside for them on public land to show he supports their fight for removing sexually explicit material from schools. He might gain a few soccer moms who don't like him. One thing, if you ever attended a soccer match and watched and heard some of the mothers, you would be surprised at how they act - similar to Trump; just saying!

OMG, should Trump, a national candidate, disrupt a local school board meeting to own the left? No. That would be obnoxious.

He has no authority over local school boards where local residents can vote for local candidates that support their position.

Don't advocate the tactics of the left.

Trump should visit the border, I agree

I understand your point about Tim Scott and think he is great. However, I believe Donald Trump has a huge problem with Suburban women and therein lies an incredibly large voting base. I also believe there would be other key positions for Senator Scott in a Trump/Haley Administration. Who knows for sure but that is my take at this point as I am one of those who believes we MUST win in November!

In a venn diagram I wonder how much suburban women and independents overlap.

Independents may break for Biden because Trump 2020 and 2022. But the reality of Biden today vs the reality of Trump two and four years ago may be compelling.

As for suburban soccer mom's who talk smack with their BFF's and tell each other their dirty fantasies and act offended in public to put on a show for their kids, the reality of Biden's economy and social degeneration programs may be compelling.

Likely voter Polling shows that Trump still has a problem with Suburban women. He should have Haley as a vp because she would pull in both the suburban women and the fiscal conservatives.

I’m a suburban woman, no problem here.

Of course, the media will pull a Jim Acosta and find a section of wall where nothing is happening and say, "See? No crises here."

Trump can only do 4 more years. He should put down his sword and select Haley as VP. Haley should do the same understanding Trump can only do 4 years! Then go out and WIN in November & stop screwing around!

My money is on Elise Stefanik. Trump cares most about loyalty. She'll fall in line.

I'd rather he pick Tim Scott. Scott would help solidify Trump's appeal with Evangelicals, help increase his growing appeal among minorities (especially Black males) and help blunt the 'Trump is a Racist' claims.

i think you're right, Erick; i appreciate your practical advice. And HAPPY BIRTHDAY to your Mom!

Before, during, and after my military and corporate careers, i've been 'independent' politically. In the past i've voted for a 3rd party candidate even when i recognized the chance of winning was 'unlikely.' i've learned that was a bad choice in this fallen/imperfect world. This year, my strong preference was/is for Ron Desantis. (i'm not so impressed with Ms Haley, but i will vote for her if she's the candidate.) That said and--assuming DJT will be the Republican candidate if he isn't taken out by lawfare (or worse)--i will vote for him against ANY Democrat candidate. Why? It's for the policies he represents versus the policies represented by virtually all of the Democrat voices. Sadly, from comments posted here by some folks, it appears they will vote against DJT's personality even though they agree with many/most of his policies. De-facto, that is obviously repeat obviously a vote for the policies of his democrat opponents. It's time for all-hands-on-deck for defeat of Biden (or whoever).

I am a pissed off Christian, Conservative, Republican, I don't for see ever voting for a Democrat. I voted for Trump twice, he was the right candidate in 2016 and I would prefer him to Biden today. But 2020 and after he just couldn't STFU. Most of his current problems are of his own making. Just go the f away.

So, my choices

1) just vote for him

2) don't vote for him so I can say I didn't

The consequences

Trump wins, burns down the party, 2028 is wide open, we possible got a repeat of 2022, Trump is not on the ballot but the Republican loose.

Biden wins, he, and soon to be the hapless President Harris, continue to own the decline of the U.S. possibly to actual shooting wars, and the next terrorist attack on U.S. soil. Then we can have 24 years of Republican presidents.

Option 3: Get behind Kennedy and Tulsi Gabbard (gut instinct on my part), elect the first Independent in history, teach the RNC and Republican Party not to take us for granted, and support a positive, unifying vision for the country. Kennedy would only serve four years, but would be popular. Tulsi, who's become more conservative than most Republicans, would win in a landslide.

Go for #1 and pray for the Sovereign God of the universe to intervene in a positive way. Why might He do that? One possible reason: to punish the democrat's insistence on killing babies up to and even beyond birth. Just sayin' !

Expand full comment

Plenty of Republicans are for killing babies, and Trump is wishy-washy on the issue now. If he hasn't paid for abortions himself in a round about way, I would be surprised. He's a serial philanderer who has somehow not fathered a child out of wedlock? I'm just saying that I wouldn't count on divine intervention to save a party who is only somewhat less evil than the Democrats. That's not to say we shouldn't pray, just that our rescuer is Jesus, not Trump.

Expand full comment

If we are to believe any research on the subject, few American's agree that it should be legal to kill pre-born babies the day before they could survive out of the womb, yet the official democrat position is there should be NO limitations. As for what DJT has done in your speculative summary, you might be wary of Matthew 6:12. As for me, i wouldn't presume to limit what God can or will do to right the ship. He has already given us Jesus, so we've already been rescued!

I don't like it but I'll vote for Trump. I wanted DeSantis or Haley instead but I'm not going to get that. We should concede the primary and let all that cash that would otherwise be spent on primary races be banked for the general.
