At first, I really thought it was intentional but as I listened more closely, I didn't hear the sarcasm he usually has behind his remarks. He pounded home the issue of not sending help, that made me think again that it was a "gaffe".

Events change things.

2016 was as much about Republicans burning down the GOP after 8 years of the GOP f'ing them over during Obama as it was Hillary couldn't get an 18 year old on viagra excited about her campaign.

2024 sees the GOP imploding on tactics without strategy (the slow road to victory) while the Democrats use the strategy of status quo their opponent lack of strategy as a tactic (strategy without tactics is the noise before defeat).

The only question is will the Democrats not loose in November and the Republican's slow road to victory come to an end in 2026, or can Trump win?

"Trump is not the same man he was in 2016, but Biden is not the man he was in 2020. "

Lessee: my regression analysis shows . . . (OMG) - in 2076 I (ME, MYSELF) will be president, at age 120. "In a race to the bottom, I shall be victorious (if I live long enough)"

If the best this country can really come up with is Trump and Biden, then we really are screwed.

If you're over 75 years old, you should not be allowed to run for president.

The GOP is run by narcissistic imbeciles. We're going to get a year of Biden and then 7 years of Harris if they don't get their act together.

Harris would be an order of magnitude worse. Biden is a puppet, but Kamala does not listen, prepare, or follow instructions. I cannot imagine the hold my beer moments that would come as she spews word salads as policy. Only this time the country is on the line rather than people rolling their eyes, looking and laughing. She does not need to receive the ultimate social promotion.

“Trump has led Biden in nine of the last twelve public polls and has historically underperformed his polling.” Did you mean outperformed?

Nice to see you are reading here Erick. I wasn't sure that you were paying attention here.

If you compare 2020 'You ain't black' Joe Biden to 2023 'beer brewed.... brew beer... ooh.. thanks for the Great Lakes' Joe Biden, even the most ardent Biden fan has to (at least privately) admit the man hasn't just lost a step or two. He's lost miles.

Yesterday, Joe Biden hemmed and hawed an attempt at an answer about the Middle East conflict and couldn't remember the name Hamas. I've visited many nursing homes over the past 15 years and listened to many patients. Yesterday, Joe Biden showed he is without a doubt nursing-home-ready. Not just assisted-care-home ready, nursing-home ready.

I'd not been of the Biden-won't-run opinion, since the Left is content with a place-holder in the presidency who can mumble out Saul Alinsky-inspired lies in his sleep, but yesterday was so embarrassing, I'm seriously rethinking. How can Teacher Degree Doctor Jill even stand this much longer?

As for his replacement, you'll hear it maybe first here, but I think Kentucky Gov Andy Beshear will be the Dem nominee -- at least the VP pick if they have to go with Kamala for Prez. He'll be president some day at any rate. The Republicans will pay for going with another inferior Trump-endorsed candidate to take on Beshear last November.

The scary thing about Biden is he is just a figurehead. Who will really be in charge? Iranian agents? I kid, but not much.

And then we have the ship of fools that has become the GOP.

Maybe Jeremiah Wright was right. I feel the hand of God’s judgement on our nation.

Ok Eric, who would you like to see as the Republican candidate for President?

My choice is Ted Cruz.

You listed the tanking of the immigration bill among the Republican's actions in which they are harming themselves. NO SIR. I agree that they were a little slow to reach the correct conclusion, but they will get nothing but credit from ALL OF US for ultimately doing the right thing. Far from shooting themselves in the foot on this one, this is one extremely positive thing that we will all remember in November.

So the logic goes - Because Biden, as an incumbent president, is going to be the dem nominee then Trump must not be a threat to democracy? I doubt you actually believe this. You seem to have no actual defense for Trump's specific actions in trying to overturn democracy so this argument of - moronic dems doing moronic things somehow absolves Trump as a threat to democracy?

The dems are also OK with a porous border - By your logic does this mean that the southern border is not a threat to national security?

"The man who cannot bring himself to go to war with Iran"

I haven't listened in a couple of months; is this where Erickson is now? Ready for an all-out war with Iran? I'm not against striking back, and I'm CERTAINLY for building up our military and preparing for war when it becomes necessary. I also have a 20-year-old son I'm not ready to send to a war that would be much bigger than Iraq or Afghanistan and which should be avoided by wiser foreign policy decisions.

I saw an article that said they predicted that Trump would push the GOP Chair from NC (Michael Whatley) to lead the RNC. It was also said that he was a big "Stop the steal" guy. Making 2024 about 2020 butt hurt will snatch up more defeats. We really need to be looking forward and not back.

Did you not get the irony behind Trump calling Nikki - Pelosi. Not a mistake please! Don't count your chickens with Trump leading in the polls; wait until all the mail-in ballots are counted in November. In 2016 Trump won Georgia, Arizona, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and Michigan - economy was great, interest rates low and in 2020 those same states flipped to Biden? Georgia and Arizona were Republican strongholds for decades and went Democrat in 2020 - give me a break. Also, new RNC chair: Harmeet Dhillon - she ran against Ronna and lost. This might be her year.

Yes. Nikki Haley, the candidate who criticized the Republicans in Congress for stopping the insane leftist amnesty/road to citizenship "immigration" bill. It was good to see that she, as a Bush acolyte, will lose in the primaries. But I actually hate to see her going off the deep end like this. There could have been a place in politics for her. But not any more. Time to hand out baskets at Wal-Mart, Nikki ...
