I think Daniel is a good model for us all in these days. The Bible says that Daniel was completely aware of the impending danger that his colleagues would succeed in entrapping him because of his faith. In the book that tells his story, we read, "When Daniel knew that the document had been signed" he went right on worshiping God in the same manner as he had done all his life.
The thing is, the king who agreed to the monstrous law that people should pray only to himself for 30 days loved Daniel. But his ego drove him to agree to that stupid law.
Our leaders all have egos, too. Ego can get the best of anyone at any time. No matter who is elected president, he will have an ego that Satan can tweak, unless he is truly sold out to the Lord Jesus.
We trust in the Lord, not men, at all times. Blessed be the name of the Lord
